October 15 is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day. Today we pause to remember every family in our community who has carried this kind of grief, whether it was recent or many years ago.

One lesson of disciple-making is this: in every ministry opportunity, our goal is simply to help someone take their next step toward Jesus. Not everyone is ready the moment they walk through our doors, and that's okay. We meet them where they are and trust God with the rest.

A few years ago, I sat down with a man who had never heard the gospel clearly. We opened up Knowing Christ together, and I watched something shift in him: real interest, real questions. But he wasn't ready to trust Jesus yet. And that was okay too.

Three years later, he walked back through our doors. Life had gotten more serious; he told me about a relationship, a girlfriend now steering him toward church, toward faith. He said he felt closer to God than he used to, but he wasn't sure where he stood. So we opened the gospel again, and this time, he was ready. He trusted Jesus as his Savior and Lord, right there.

As advocates, we rarely get to see how our clients' stories end. This time, I did, and what a gift it was to watch him come full circle. Glory to God for His patience, and for finishing what He starts.

One of our advocates recently shared this with our team, and we thought you'd want to hear it too. Our gift bags had been empty of handmade beanies and booties for weeks, until someone found one bag tucked at the very back of the bin. Inside: the most colorful, one-of-a-kind pair of rainbow booties anyone on our team had ever seen. That day, our advocate sat with a mom who had walked through loss before this pregnancy. When she saw those booties, she said it felt like a sign. We believe it was another reminder that nothing here happens by accident; every stitch, every gift, every appointment is handled with care. 🌈
