We're taking our abilities on the road tomorrow! 🧡💜💛

TAC is headed to Brown's Farm for a day of fall fun, fresh air, playground adventures, and making memories with friends! We're looking forward to a day filled with laughter, physical activity, socialization, and a little adventure!

📢 IMPORTANT REMINDERS FOR TOMORROW:

💵 $5 per participant for admission.

🥪 Bring a picnic lunch that does NOT require heating or refrigeration.

👟 Wear comfortable clothing and shoes suitable for playing, climbing, and enjoying the outdoor activities.

🕙 Departure: Shortly after 10:00 AM.

🕑 Return: Approximately 2:00 PM.

Please make sure everyone arrives on time and is ready for a fun-filled day!

We're only TWO DAYS away from Beyond Words: Understanding Sensory Needs, Communication, & Connection! And there's still time to register!

We've partnered with Ohio County Healthcare's Rehabilitation Department to bring this FREE educational session to our community, and we're excited for everyone to have the opportunity to learn from their team!

🧩 Sensory Regulation – Understanding sensory needs and learning ways to better support individuals.

💬 Communication Breakdowns – Why they happen and how we can respond when communication becomes difficult.

🗣️ Multimodal Communication – Learning about the different ways individuals communicate and how we can better support those who don't rely solely on spoken words.

Whether you're a parent, caregiver, educator, first responder, healthcare worker, or simply someone who wants to learn, this session is for YOU!

You don't have to have any prior knowledge or experience. Just come ready to learn!

🍂💜🧡 **A New Week at TAC!** 💛🍁

We're Falling Into Independence this week at TAC! We have another exciting week planned, filled with hands-on learning, community outings, life skills, and a little celebrating along the way!

📌 **Here's what you need to know this week:**

🏊 **Monday:** Purple Stars will be heading to the Family Wellness Center! Participants who wish to swim need to bring a bathing suit and beach towel. Golden Lightning will be staying at TAC and participating in a special KIBU Weather Class at 10:00 a.m.! We'll also be celebrating National Kentucky Day with some Kentucky-themed activities and pre-vocational skills!

🎃 **Tuesday:** We're heading to Brown's Farm! Participants need to bring $5 and a picnic lunch with drink that does not need to be heated and if it needs to be kept cool please include an ice pack.

🍎 **Wednesday:** It's National Apple Day! We'll be putting our culinary skills to work, exploring some fun apple science experiments, and practicing budgeting, shopping, and other everyday life skills!

🎨 **Thursday:** We're celebrating National Color Day with creative fall art, hands-on inventory and sorting challenges, and activities focused on teamwork, organization, and independence!

🍂 **Friday:** We're wrapping up our Falling Into Independence week with a TAC Fall Challenge Day! Participants will put their skills to the test with fun, hands-on pre-vocational challenges, problem-solving activities, creative projects, and some friendly team competition! It's all about building confidence, encouraging teamwork, and celebrating what we CAN do!

📌 Reminder: Friday is our only Pizza Day! If a participant wants to order pizza please ensure they have money to do so in their account or with them.

Throughout the week, we'll continue focusing on pre-vocational training, independent living skills, creativity, teamwork, communication, and building confidence through everyday experiences!

🏍️ When the Executive Director says she’s going to support the bike show, apparently she means from the back of a bike! 😂💜

Looks like our fearless leader decided to trade her director duties for a little wind therapy today! 😎🏍️

What an AMAZING day at our Get Spooky for The Ability Center Bike & Car Show! 🎃

We want to extend a HUGE thank you to our incredible community, generous donors, participants, volunteers, and EVERYONE who came out to support The Ability Center today!

Whether you brought a bike or car, made a donation, volunteered your time, or simply showed up to enjoy the day, YOU helped make this event a success!

Your support means so much more than you know. Every dollar raised and every act of kindness helps us continue providing opportunities for our participants to get out into the community and the importance of that cannot be measured!

We are truly blessed to have a community that believes in our mission and shows up for the amazing individuals we serve. 💜🧡💛

💜🧡💛 A big THANK YOU to Roscoe Moore for once again welcoming our TAC men into his shop for free haircuts and some much-needed guy time!

Our guys absolutely love these visits and look forward to every opportunity to go! It's about so much more than a haircut—it's friendship, community connections, and feeling valued.

🥧 **Sweet Treats & Sweet Skills at TAC!** 🍫🍓

Yesterday, we celebrated National Dessert Day with a delicious, hands-on culinary lesson featuring our very own No-Bake Mini Pie Bar!

But the learning started long before the first bite! Our participants worked through the process of planning, creating a supply order, preparing pudding fillings, and organizing all the ingredients and toppings. Once everything was ready, everyone got to choose their favorite flavors and toppings to create their own mini pie masterpieces!

What looked like a fun dessert activity was actually packed with valuable life skills and vocational training! Participants practiced following directions, measuring and preparing ingredients, food safety, organization, decision-making, and independence in the kitchen.

At TAC, we love turning everyday activities into meaningful learning opportunities. And when the lesson ends with dessert, that's just the icing on the cake! 💜🧡💛

🍂🔬🎨 **Falling Into Our Abilities at TAC!**

Today, we combined science, art, and creativity for some hands-on learning!

Our participants explored the scientific method by making predictions, forming hypotheses, conducting experiments, and observing results to see if their hypotheses were correct. We also tapped into our artistic abilities through creative projects that encouraged self-expression and imagination!

From critical thinking and problem-solving to following directions and fine motor skills, every activity was an opportunity to learn, grow, and discover new abilities.
