I stand with Dr. Fauci.

As a pediatrician who worked through the pandemic, I will never forget what it felt like to care for patients during the early days of COVID. The fear, the uncertainty, and the constant worry of bringing the virus home.

I even sent my husband and children back to Taiwan for a period of time because I believed they would be safer there while I continued working.

None of us had perfect answers. We followed the best evidence we had, and that evidence evolved.

I’ll always be grateful to the healthcare workers and scientists who carried that burden—and I’ll always stand with science.

Sadly, we need to talk about measles again.

The U.S. is experiencing the highest number of measles cases in over 35 years. One of its most devastating complications is SSPE (Subacute Sclerosing Panencephalitis)—a rare but fatal brain disease that can develop years after a child appears to have recovered from measles. There is no cure.

Please, use common sense. If your child is eligible, vaccinate them with the MMR vaccine. It’s one of the safest and most effective ways to protect your child from a preventable disease with potentially devastating consequences. ❤️

A little field trip back to where it all began. ❤️

Three weeks ago, I had the chance to visit the very first clinic where I worked after graduating from residency, in Salem, Oregon. I spent five wonderful years there, caring for so many amazing children and families while working alongside incredible colleagues who helped shape the pediatrician I am today.

It was so special to reconnect with familiar faces, share hugs and stories, and be reminded that although I’ve started a new chapter with Little Island Pediatrics, this place will always hold a special place in my heart.

Thank you to everyone who made those years so meaningful. I’m grateful for the memories, the friendships, and the privilege of caring for your families. 💙

Three years ago, our family experienced a near-drowning incident that changed the way we think about water safety forever.

As a pediatrician—and as a parent—I feel it’s so important to share this message.

💙 Designate a Water Watcher
💙 Choose pools with four-sided fencing
💙 Wear life jackets in natural bodies of water and at the beach
💙 Learn CPR

Drowning is often silent and can happen in seconds. Layers of protection save lives.

A proud mom moment ❤️

Over the past few weeks, my daughter decided to run for Student Council President at her school. Going into it, she knew the odds of winning were small, but she wanted to challenge herself and give it her best effort anyway.

What I'm most proud of isn't the result—it's the process. She spent many evenings working on her speech, thinking carefully about what she wanted to say, and deciding that she wouldn't make promises she couldn't realistically keep just to win votes. She was incredibly nervous about public speaking, but she practiced, got up in front of her peers and teachers, and did it anyway.

Today, she was elected Student Council President. 🎉

Whether she had won or not, I would have been just as proud. Watching her step outside her comfort zone, work hard toward a goal, handle uncertainty, and stay true to her values has been such a joy.

I'm also grateful that schools provide opportunities like this. The lessons learned from participating—courage, perseverance, public speaking, leadership, and sportsmanship—are so much bigger than the election itself.

Congratulations to all of the students who ran. Putting yourself out there takes bravery, and every candidate should be proud of their effort.

When I’m not seeing patients, the work doesn’t stop 🤍
Cleaning, reorganizing, catching up on charts…
and making space for a little reset.

These quiet, behind-the-scenes moments
are what keep everything running smoothly—
and remind me to slow down and enjoy time with my family.

From one field to the next, weekends look a little hectic around here 😅

But I wouldn’t trade it for anything.

So much respect for all the parents showing up, cheering loud, and making it happen.

I’m especially grateful that owning my own business allows me to be present for more of these moments.

Hoping my kids learn to have fun, play hard, and always respect others.

Did you know kids don’t need to specialize in one sport early to succeed?

The American Academy of Pediatrics actually recommends multi-sport participation—especially in younger years.

Why?
✔️ Lower risk of injury
✔️ Less burnout
✔️ Better overall athletic development

Let kids explore, play, and have fun. There’s no rush to specialize. 🏃‍♀️⚽️🏀
