A powerful evening of art, connection, and community at the Katonah Museum of Art. Through Pieces of Mind, students explored the impact of mental health and substance use, using creativity to spark meaningful conversation.

We are grateful to the leaders who joined us in support of our youth, including Senator Peter Harckham, Commissioner Michael Orth, Deputy County Executive Ken Jenkins, Supervisor Ellen Calves, Councilwoman Bobbi Bittker, and Legislator Erika L. Pierce.

Together, we continue to elevate youth voice and strengthen our community’s response to mental health and substance use.

During our recent paint night at the Katonah Museum of Art, youth engaged in meaningful conversations around substance use, mental health, and community influence.
Their work came together in a powerful final piece, “Pieces of Mind,” reflecting their perspectives, creativity, and resilience.

On Tuesday, April 28 at 6:30 PM, the Katonah-Lewisboro community is invited to John Jay High School (B Wing) for a powerful presentation from Sullivan’s Message.

This event features:
• “More Than a Party” – a compelling story on the real impact of teen drinking and the role of families and community
• “From NFL to Recovery” – Chris Sullivan shares his journey from professional football to overcoming anxiety and addiction

This is a direct, real-world look at the challenges teens face today and how we can better support them.

Some experts recommend smoking rather than injecting fentanyl to avoid needle-related diseases. But, smoking fentanyl is dangerous and can lead to second and third-hand exposures.

Researchers followed more than 400,000 teens until they were adults. It found that those who used ma*****na were more likely to develop serious mental illness, as well as depression and anxiety.

Productive day on Capitol Hill. THRIVE Bedford | Lewisboro | Pound Ridge’s Coalition Coordinator, Isabella Pectol, joined the Kristin McConnell and Lucy Guarino of Carmel Communities That Care Coalition, Helena Marescot of White Plains Youth Bureau and Ellen Morehouse of Student Assistance Services to meet with District Representative Mike Lawler to discuss what our coalitions are seeing on the ground and the prevention work happening in our communities. Grateful for the opportunity to elevate local voices at the federal level.
