We have two celebrations today! Dr. Jessica Deloach and Tammy Fitzgerald share a birthday. Jessica is a physical therapist and site director in our Hurt clinic. She enjoys treating general orthopedics for all ages and sports injuries for student athletes. She also enjoys geriatric rehabilitation including balance training and vestibular rehab. Tammy is a patient care coordinator in our Amherst clinic. She works well with patients and colleagues. We're happy to have her on our team! We're raising awareness about employees’ well-being as we celebrate National Employee Wellness Month! 🙌 Here are a few ways to overcome stress and put a positive spin on your day 😁:

✅️ Take Deep Breaths for an easy 3-5 minute exercise, sit up in a chair with your feet flat on the floor and hands on top of your knees. Breathe in and out slowly and deeply. Deep breathing oxygenates your blood.
✅️ Exercise causes your body to release endorphins, and it helps clear the mind. Get up and walk for a few minutes. If you can’t leave your desk, stretch! Stretching is a therapeutic exercise.
✅️ Eat Right and avoid sugary, fatty snack foods. Fruits and vegetables are always a good, healthy option. Keep several at your desk and enjoy them.
✅️ Listen to Music, playing calm music has a positive effect on the brain and body. If you are feeling overwhelmed, take a small break and listen to your favorite tune. One recommendation is listening to the ocean or nature sounds.
✅️ Schedule Time with family or friends to combat stress and/or loneliness by calling or meeting them after work. Schedule a group lunch or outing and have it on your calendar as something to look forward to.

Another good reason to rehab in our Hurt clinic: Dr. Megan Bowles!

Please welcome Megan Bowles, PT, DPT, to our Rehab Associates team! Megan is a licensed physical therapist who earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy from the University of Lynchburg in 2026. She has a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Physiology from the University of Lynchburg where she graduated in 2023. Megan loves general orthopedics for all ages, and she also enjoys geriatric rehabilitation, including balance retraining and vestibular rehab. Megan is passionate about helping patients return to the activities they love.

In her spare time, Megan enjoys reading, exercising at a local gym, farming, and spending time with family and friends. Welcome to the Rehab Associates family, Megan! We're so glad you're on our team!
