Feeding is a reflex too! Newborns have NO voluntary control over their body movements.

The most common concern that I see in practice is babies who are not wide opening to latch. The reason for this is usually that we simply are not asking them to!

Happy Mothers Day!!

I had a couple of reschedules for early this week if anybody would like a home visit 🙂

Usually home visits are limited to newborns, but in celebration of Mothers Day the only criteria for this week will be within 45 minutes from Bedford… and NO home visit fee on Monday or Tuesday! 💜

Did you know that lactation and infant feeding appointments with me are fully covered if you have Cigna?

This is for breastfeeding, pumping, and bottle feeding families; and babies who are on either breastmilk or formula.

I actually know a LOT about formula composition and formula feeding. Selecting a formula that your baby likes and that your family feels good about is important. Selecting a bottle style that works with your baby's oral structure and function is important too.

If your baby is bottle fed and is dribbling during feedings, making funny noises during feedings, having to stop and start again during feedings, or is becoming uncomfortable after feeding- something isn't right.

Don't feel like there needs to be a major problem to have an appointment. If you find yourself googling about latch, scheduling, pump fl**ge fitting, return to work planning, starting solids, weaning- anything feeding related- please, don't hesitate to come in. We can do a two hour visit for a full comprehensive appointment, or a one hour visit to address specific concerns.

Of course, if you are in the throws of major feeding concerns, feeling like you are drowning, or if you are in pain- come in! I CAN help you!!
