The Trial Work Period (TWP) lets many people receiving Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) test their ability to work without immediately losing their cash benefits.
During your TWP, you can work and earn as much as you want for up to nine trial work months within five years.
After your ninth trial work month, you have a 3-month “grace period.” During this grace period, you still receive your full SSDI benefits even if your earnings are above SGA.
Allsup Employment Services (AES), an authorized Employment Network through the Ticket To Work (TTW) Program, can help you understand your work incentives and prepare for your employment goals.
…
AES helps you use the Social Security Administration’s TTW Program by:
- Assisting you with SSA communication.
- Assisting you with completing your Individual Work Plan.
- Providing career exploration, assistance and support.
