The fence is fixed and the cows are happy in the new section. They’re gaining weight nicely.

While chatting with one of the security fellows today I mentioned I was looking forward to the break in the rain because the bullfrogs have started moving out of the pond and into my yard. I think he thought I was being silly. I was serious. I’m standing on my driveway in this. That’s my yard full of tadpoles.

This is what raising animals to feed your family looks like. You put in the work and reap the rewards. These chicks came in March and we spent time raising them up and moving them around the field and today we did two on the smoker.

Chicken math is real. Never doubt it. 🐓Also the big chickens followed me out of the rain into the barn for a visit. The chicks are not making all that noise.

Cornish cross processing day went awesome. We ranged 3-6 lbs per bird when cleaned and freezer ready. We did some as whole birds and pieced some out. We also had the pleasure of teaching a couple of folks the process and getting them comfortable in doing this themselves.
