Today my heart is so heavy. When Cheryl didn’t show up for her appointment and I couldn’t reach her, I later learned that she had passed away—and I’m just devastated.
Cheryl was such a special woman—strong, well-traveled, I have a couple beautiful Persian rugs from her from Okinawa. I feel so grateful that I got to know her and spend time with her. She truly left a mark on my heart.
About a year ago, I had the honor of tattooing a cardinal on her. She chose it so thoughtfully, as a symbol of remembering the people she loved who had passed before her. It meant so much to her—and now it means even more to me.
So when I see a cardinal, I’ll think of you, Cheryl. I’ll take it as a sign that you’re at peace, reunited with those you love, and watching over us.
I pray you are resting in the arms of the Lord now, whole and free from pain.
You will be deeply missed. ❤️
