Early in practice, jumps and landings might feel controlled and effortless.
An hour later, fatigue can change things.
As muscles tire, athletes may find it harder to maintain the same level of control during jumping, landing, and rapid changes of direction.
That's one reason conditioning and recovery are so important during volleyball season.
Building strength and endurance helps prepare the body for repeated efforts, while appropriate rest helps athletes arrive ready for the next session.
Good movement isn't only important during the first few minutes of practice. The goal is to maintain it when the game gets tough too.
