Meet Kaylen (she/her). 🌿
MA-C | Front Desk & Patient Care Coordination

Kaylen is the warm voice that greets you at Spectrum, and the seven-plus years of reproductive and sexual healthcare experience behind it.

Her background spans gender-affirming care, family planning, STI services, abortion care, phlebotomy, patient education, and clinical training. Before joining Spectrum, she mentored clinical staff and helped build more intentional gender-affirming care programs at a regional reproductive health clinic. She knows this work and she cares about doing it right.

Kaylen believes healthcare should feel respectful, accessible, and safe, especially during the moments that feel most vulnerable. She's particularly passionate about creating affirming experiences for LGBTQI+ patients, and it shows in how she shows up every single day.

Her roots in community health and violence prevention advocacy inform everything she brings to the clinic. She meets people where they are.

Outside of work: Pacific Northwest outdoors, community connection, lifelong learning... and yes, sick tattoos. 🖤

As a clinic full of water and earth signs, we were overdue for a Libra. We're glad it's her.

We were nominated and we’d love your vote!

Bellingham nominated Spectrum for:
✦ Best Medical Clinic
✦ Best Women’s Clinic (for patients of all genders & ge****ls)
✦ Best Woman-Owned Business

These nominations came from patients who took a moment to say: "This place is different. This place helped me."
That means more to us than any award.

This isn’t really about winning.
It’s about helping the next person find care that actually feels like care, sooner.

If Spectrum has been part of your care, your vote helps someone else feel seen faster.

And if you know someone still looking? Share this with them 🤍

We’re hiring 💚
Spectrum is growing, and we’re excited to expand our care team.

We’re a small specialty clinic providing affirming, trauma-informed care in reproductive health, gynecology, and gender-affirming care.

We’re hiring for two RN roles:

RN – Clinical Operations Manager (W-2 leadership role)
For an experienced RN who loves systems and workflows almost as much as they enjoy patient care.

Registered Nurse (1099, part-time)
A patient-facing role supporting intake visits, lab review, portal messaging, and care coordination as our Lead RN begins NP clinicals.

If you’re an RN who values thoughtful medicine, affirming care, and working in a clinic that cares deeply about how care is delivered, we'd love for you to apply.

Access is a form of care.

Beginning January 2026, Washington’s new HB 1971 protects access to hormone therapy by requiring most state- regulated insurance plans to cover up to a year’s supply of eligible medications at once.

For patients using hormones for gender affirmation or menopause support, this means more stability and fewer barriers between you and the care you need.

Because testosterone is classified as a Schedule III controlled medication, federal law allows pharmacies to dispense up to a 90-day supply at a time, with refills totaling up to six months.

At Spectrum, we already prescribe extended supplies when it’s safe to do so. This new law simply ensures your insurance keeps up.

Take a look on our blog to see how this new law might apply to you.

Meet Dani (they/them), our new Patient Care Nurse. 💜💛🖤🤍

Dani brings deep compassion and skill to Spectrum, with roots in both pediatric intensive care and labor & delivery nursing. They’re passionate about affirming, inclusive care that honors every patient’s story , and they’re especially dedicated to advancing gender-affirming care and reproductive justice in our community.

Originally from Seattle, Dani earned their BSN from the University of Washington before making Bellingham home. When they’re not at Spectrum, you can find them running with local groups, lifting weights, skiing at Mount Baker, or exploring alpine trails with their wife, dog, and two cats.

Say hi to Dani in the comments and help us give them a warm welcome!

🌍 Tomorrow is World Menopause Day.
This year’s theme is Lifestyle Medicine — highlighting how small, intentional changes can make a big difference in how we experience menopause.

At Spectrum, we look beyond “just hormones.”
We explore how sleep, nutrition, movement, stress, and connection all shape your hormonal health — and your overall well-being.

Menopause isn’t a disease to fix; it’s a transition to navigate with care, evidence, and support.
You deserve a provider who takes the time to understand your body, your story, and your goals.

✨ Let’s normalize the conversation, reduce stigma, and celebrate the resilience of midlife women.
💬 Share this to remind someone they’re not alone in this season.

10/12/2025

We honor rest, reflection, and resistance—especially during fall holidays. Here's what to expect for Spectrum's hours this season:
🧡 Closed:
• Oct 13 – Indigenous Peoples' Day
• Nov 11 – Veterans Day
• Nov 27-28 – Thanksgiving + Native American Heritage Day

⏳ Messages and portal replies may take an additional 1–2 business days as we return. Thanks for your patience as we care for ourselves and our families.
