For some, the functionality behind acupuncture points go far beyond healing flesh, joints and sinews. Accessing the spirit of the points touches our very soul.

I wrote this article when I was mentoring with David Berkshire, president of the Worsely Five Elements Institute. There is a grace and beauty to this medicine that I feel I'm only beginning to tap into.

There is spirit behind acupuncture points, a deeper meaning. There is a more fullness and satisfaction that comes from understanding the poetry in functionality.

Now seeing patients in person with:
- Chronic & acute pain.
- Acute skin injuries & infections.
- Urgent care for possible pelvic infections, sore throat, ear infections, unresolved cough/shortness of breath, or other acute illness.

Governor Kate Brown announced that she will be lifting her order delaying non-urgent procedures for health care providers. We will be able to resume non-urgent procedures on May 1, 2020.

With deep consideration for the needs of our patients, Lumos Medical Center has decided to expand our scope of patient visits to allow for some limited in-person services.

We will remain flexible in expanding the amount of patients we can see in person, as the risk of transmission for COVID-19 changes. We will continue to follow the recommendations set by state and federal public health organizations.

I was caught between two fires this weekend in the Columbia River Gorge. Writing about it is therapeutic.

A lazy Saturday afternoon turned into a life threatening adventure. We found ourselves caught between the new Eagle Creek fire and the Indian Creek fire at a popular watering hole in the Columbia River Gorge. We had to hike out 14 miles at once! 140+ hikers at Punchbowl falls stayed overnigh
