The operating room has been busy, and our team is continuing to provide much needed eye care and sight-restoring surgeries at Majuro Hospital.

Every successful day in the operating room takes preparation, precision, communication, and an incredible amount of teamwork. We’re proud to see our volunteers and local colleagues working side by side, sharing their skills and supporting one another throughout the mission💙

Our Ophthalmology team in Majuro has officially reached an incredible milestone: 100 surgeries completed!

Behind this milestone are 100 patients who have taken a step toward clearer vision and a brighter tomorrow. We are so grateful to our dedicated volunteers, local healthcare partners, and especially to the donors and supporters at home who make this life-changing work possible.

🇲🇭👁️ Mission in Motion | Majuro, Marshall Islands

Our Ophthalmology team has devoted this week to bringing specialized eye care to patients in Majuro, and the impact of their dedication is already evident in the lives they are touching.

In just three days, our volunteer team has completed:

14 surgeries on Monday
18 surgeries on Tuesday
20 surgeries on Wednesday

That’s 52 surgeries in just three days!❤️

While the numbers show the scope of the mission, the real impact is found in the people behind them. Each patient represents a life touched, a vision restored, and a new possibility for seeing the world more clearly.

We are incredibly grateful to this hardworking team for giving their time and expertise, and to our donors, partners, and supporters back home who make missions like this possible.

Celebrating a Successful Dental & Optical Mission in Ebeye! 🇲🇭💙

We couldn’t be more proud of our incredible Dental & Optical volunteer team! They showed up each day with compassion, energy, expertise, and a genuine desire to serve. The care provided may be what brought our team to Ebeye, but the people they met and the connections they made are what they’ll carry home with them.

We’re grateful for our Marshallese partners who welcomed our team and worked alongside us, and for every donor and supporter who helped make this mission possible. It truly takes a community to make a mission like this happen🤝

As our team heads home, we celebrate more than a successful mission, we celebrate the collective impact of a community that came together to make care possible in Ebeye.

And while we say yokwe to our Dental & Optical team, we’re already preparing to welcome our Ophthalmology volunteers to Majuro for our next mission, taking place August 21–September 3.

We’re excited to continue the work of expanding access to specialized care and making a meaningful impact in the Marshall Islands one mission, one patient, and one connection at a time👁️💙

Beyond the Clinic: Every Strand Tells a Story 🧶
The beauty of the Marshall Islands is woven not only into its oceans and atolls, but also into the traditions carried through generations.

Traditional Marshallese weaving is more than a craft, it is a celebration of identity, history, and connection. Using natural materials like pandanus leaves, skilled weavers create beautiful pieces such as the jaki-ed, a treasured woven mat that represents cultural knowledge passed from mothers and grandmothers to younger generations.

Today, Marshallese weavers continue working to preserve and revive these traditions, ensuring that the skills, stories, and artistry of their ancestors remain alive for future generations.

Today, weaving continues to play an important role in Marshallese communities. Beyond preserving cultural traditions, handcrafted items provide meaningful opportunities for many Marshallese women to support their families and share their artistry with communities both within the islands and around the world.

As Marshallese families have built connections across the globe, these traditional crafts have helped strengthen cultural ties, allowing stories, skills, and heritage to travel far beyond the shores of the Marshall Islands.

Through programs that encourage the revival and teaching of traditional weaving, Marshallese communities are ensuring that these treasured skills remain alive for future generations.

This is what makes our partnership with the Marshall Islands so meaningful.
