We wrapped up National CNA week with a facility BBQ. The smell of BBQ burgers and hot dogs enticed us all outside to enjoy the company of each other in the warm sun yesterday. It was a great week to celebrate the skills and talents of such an important position in long-term care. The CNAs are the heart of care and their compassion and big hearts are so needed.

It's Dirty Sodas All Around. A little treat for our CNAs and staff during National CNA week. A shout out to Freddie's Dirty Soda Company for the delicious beverages on a warm summer day. A "dirty soda" is a customized beverage made by mixing a standard carbonated soda base with flavored syrups, fruit purees, and a splash of cream or creamer in case you didn't know.

May is Huntington's Disease Awareness Month. Crescent Manor is the only nursing facility in the state of Vermont that has a dedicated unit for Huntington's Residents and specially trained staff. We ended our celebration of National Skilled Nursing Care week with a BBQ and a visit from McKay Farm's Petting Zoo. Due to the weather the petting zoo had to be inside and we were limited to the types of animals but the residents still loved the visits. The Alpaca was a star! Celebration of National Skilled Nursing Week is still in full swing. Crescent Manor had Mr. Ding-a-Ling stop by so everyone could pick out an ice cream to enjoy. They were a big hit. The staff enjoyed a "Build Your Own Sub" day and the activities department has been keeping the residents busy with all sorts of fun crafts and entertainment.

Mother's Day tea was a lovely event at Crescent Manor and enjoyed by so many of our wonderful women including our staff.
