Therapy Tip Tuesday: Core Strength!

Core strength helps children with posture, balance, coordination, and everyday play. The best part? You can build it through fun activities like floor play, dancing, crawling through forts, animal walks, and playground adventures!

What is your child's favorite way to stay active? πŸ’ͺ✨

Starting our Monday with some collaboration!πŸ’™

During PT, Phillip worked on ankle strength, balance, and coordination through an obstacle course. His AAC device came along for the ride, helping him practice carrying it during movement activities and navigate with the added weight.

At Inclusionary, our therapists work together to support the whole child. By incorporating his AAC device into PT, we're reinforcing an important message: Phillip's voice goes wherever he goes. Communication doesn't stop when therapy goals change, it belongs in every environment.

We love seeing teamwork in action! πŸ‘

Time for another myth vs truth!

Let's talk handwriting.

Did anything in this post surprise you?
Handwriting involves much more than just holding a pencil. It requires coordination, strength, visual skills, and postural control working together.

What is the biggest handwriting challenge your child faces? Let us know below! πŸ‘‡

BIG WIN ALERT!

Olivia ate vegetables during feeding therapy! πŸŽ‰

For many children, taking a bite of a vegetable may seem like a small step. For Olivia, this represents months of building trust, reducing anxiety around foods, exploring new textures, and developing confidence at her own pace.

We are so proud of her willingness to try something new and celebrate every step forward on her feeding journey. Way to go, Olivia!

✨ Therapy Tip Tuesday ✨

Less quizzing, more modeling! πŸ’™

Instead of asking your child to repeat words or constantly testing what they know, try modeling language during everyday activities.

❌ "Say more"
❌ "What is that?"
βœ… "More bubbles!"
βœ… "That's a big truck!"

Children learn language best when it's meaningful, natural, and pressure-free.

🌟 Patient Spotlight: Roman! 🌟

Roman is a 6-year-old who receives Speech, Occupational, and Physical Therapy at Inclusionary. Roman has diagnoses of Autism Spectrum Disorder and dwarfism, but he has never let either define what he can accomplish. He approaches life with determination, confidence, and a personality that lights up our clinic every time he walks through the door.

Roman is incredibly smart, full of humor, and always keeps us laughing with his silly personality. He works hard in therapy and continues to show us that challenges don't have to stand in the way of growth and success. Everyone at Inclusionary looks forward to seeing Roman each week!

Fun fact: Roman is a gestalt language learner, which means he has an amazing ability to remember and quote lines from movies, songs, and TV shows. His memory and creativity never cease to amaze us. We are so proud of Roman and honored to be part of his journey! πŸ’™
