A Soldier's Heart Bluegrass and Muddy Waters

A Soldier's Heart Bluegrass and Muddy Waters A nonprofit organization founded in February of 2016 to help meet the needs of veterans through retreats and music. A Soldier's Heart is my dream.

I served in Iraq from March 06 till June 07. I was in C Co 2/123AR--we ran convoy escorts, combat patrols, and Instant Reaction Force (IRF) out of LSA Anaconda. We normally ran six nights a week: Two nights a week to Baghdad and back; and four nights a week to Tikrit and back. I suffer from PTSD as many combat Veterans do. I started this Non Profit Organization to re-engage Veterans with PTSD into

nature. We take Veterans on canoeing/kayaking trips and camping in the woods or campgrounds when allowed. We have partnered with a camp in Frankfort, KY where we hold regular retreats. We introduce Veterans to different holistic modalities while on these retreats. This allows them to add tools to their kit to aid in healing. We also team up with other organizations and camps to fulfill similar missions. These partnerships allow us to reach more Veterans and promote other organizations. Mother Nature is very therapeutic. I hope these Veterans will leave these activities with a new found hobby that they can enjoy with other Veterans and their families. I hope to grow this organization to a point that it helps thousands of Veterans across out great nation, all while still being grass roots. God Bless,

Jeremy Wallace, Founder

Whether they served in uniform, supported from the home front, or simply led by example; a father figure’s impact reaches far beyond a single day.

A Soldier’s Heart celebrates the men who taught us courage, integrity, service, and what it means to put others before ourselves.

To all fathers, father figures, and those carrying on their legacy… Thank you.

Happy Father’s Day.

From the frozen fields of Valley Forge to the mountains, deserts, and battlefields of today, generations of Soldiers have carried the weight of defending this nation on their shoulders.

The uniform has changed. The mission has evolved. But the spirit of the American Soldier remains the same.

Today, we honor every Soldier who answered the call, every Veteran who carried the torch, and every family who stood beside them.

Happy 251st Birthday, United States Army! HOOAH! 🇺🇸🫡

Today is Post-Traumatic Growth Day, a reminder that while trauma can change us, it does not have to define us.

At A Soldier’s Heart, Post-Traumatic Growth has become a recurring topic at our Women Veterans retreats. It asks an important question: How can struggle transform us? Not by minimizing pain or hardship… But by recognizing that healing can lead to greater strength, deeper relationships, renewed purpose, and a greater appreciation for life.

The video attached features Captain Capt. Charlie Plumb, who survived 2,103 days as a prisoner of war in North Vietnam. His story is a powerful example of resilience, perspective, and the human capacity to grow through adversity.

A Soldier’s Heart, remains committed to helping Veterans not simply survive their struggles, but learn to thrive beyond them.

On Women Veterans Recognition Day, we honor the generations of women who answered the call to serve our nation.

Women have served in every conflict, every branch, and every capacity; often overcoming barriers, breaking ground, and paving the way for those who followed. Their service, sacrifice, leadership, and resilience have strengthened both our military and our communities.

At A Soldier’s Heart, we are especially grateful for the Women Veterans who continue to lead, mentor, advocate, and support one another long after their military service ends.

To every woman veteran: Thank you for your service, your courage, and the example you continue to set.

Today, we pause to remember the courage, sacrifice & unwavering resolve of the Allied forces who stormed the beaches of Normandy on June 6, 1944.

D-Day was more than a military operation, it was a testament to ordinary people doing extraordinary things in the face of unimaginable adversity. Many never made it home. Many carried the physical and emotional scars of war for the rest of their lives.

At A Soldier’s Heart, we honor not only their service & sacrifice, but also the enduring strength required to heal after trauma.

As we remember the Greatest Generation today, let us also recommit ourselves to supporting those who continue to carry the burdens of service.
