It’s been 2 weeks since I left my heart in Alabama. ❤️🥹 I think I’ve been slowly preparing and silently processing for this day for many months. But seeing the resilient, independent and incredibly capable young woman you have become, Kaitlyn Deramo, made it just a little bit easier on Dad and me. America is far from perfect, but it’s built on ideals worth protecting…and I’m incredibly proud of the people in my family who answered that call. My dad, uncle and aunt served as Marines, and my father-in-law served in the Army, defending our nation’s liberties across the globe.🪖

Right here at home, my niece continues that exact mission every day as a police officer, keeping our community safe.👮🏼

Seeing their dedication, sacrifice, and heart makes me deeply proud to be an American…Happy Independence Day! 🇺🇸❤️🎆

Who remembers that song “Victoria’s Secret” from a few years ago? I heard it again this morning and it stopped me in my tracks.

I wrote about why this song still matters - not just for our daughters, but for every woman who grew up measuring herself against a standard that was invented by a questionable businessman in Ohio to make money.

We lost decades to that lie and we need to shout - or SING - it from the rooftops so our girls know better.🙌🏻

I’ve been “in it” for a few months now. 🤍

Sitting with something.
Praying about it.
Talking it through.
And finally…finally…being honest with myself about what I actually need right now.

So here it is.

I’m pressing pause on Peace & Plenty in 20.

Life is a constant balance of two truths, and two things can be true at the same time.

Episode 50 just dropped and I am celebrating this, but instead of promising you 50 more, I’m doing something a little scary…I’m telling you the truth.

My girls are growing up faster than I ever expected.
My mom and in-laws are getting older.
My marriage deserves more time.
My home, my health, my cooking, my body…they all deserve more of me.

I want to live what I teach. Not just talk about it.

So I’m hibernating. 🐻 (Don’t mistake this for quitting)

And in Episode 50, I share all of it…the guilt, the shame, the reframe, and where I’m headed next. Somewhere quieter, slower, and a lot more me. 🌿
