If you wish to know how herbalism can change someone's life, you need only read our latest blog - a heartfelt personal account by our alumni and herbalist Ashley Campos.

For as long as she can remember, Ashley longed to connect with nature and community in a real way. That yearning grew into resolve when she found out her father was sick.

Determined to find healing and answers in nature, she turned to herbalism and joined the BHC apprenticeship program - and for the first time, she truly felt at home.

Her love of herbs runs in her blood- and quite literally so - since she also discovered that both her great-grandmothers were also herbalists!

Ashley now serves her community as a registered herbalist, BHC faculty member, and is starting her own herbalist practice as !

This month's herbalist spotlight is shining on Tyler, founder of Sage Against the Disease.

https://www.berkeleyherbalcenter.org/alumni-tyler-anderson/

What started as a simple curiosity turned into a lifelong career on interdisciplinary holistic medicine.

After graduating from our three year program in 2014, Tyler went on to get his Master's of Science degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine, his Doctorate of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine, and more than 500 hours of his yoga teacher training.

Now, he combines acupuncture, cupping, moxibustion, herbal medicine, nutritional counseling and Tui Na massage to offer a full spectrum of therapies.

In the spotlight on his herbalist journey, at the link in our bio, Tyler shares the Di da jiao formula, a topical liniment he loves for speeding up recovery time for injury.
