The Year of the Horse is traditionally associated with movement, strength, independence, and forward progress. In the lunar zodiac, the horse symbolizes energy, endurance, and the courage to pursue new paths. This year is expected to bring opportunities for growth, bold decisions, and meaningful change.

People may feel more motivated to take initiative, embrace freedom, and pursue long-held goals. It is a favorable time for leadership, travel, creative expression, and personal breakthroughs. However, the horse’s powerful energy also encourages balance—reminding us to stay grounded, act with integrity, and move forward with purpose rather than haste.

Overall, the Year of the Horse invites us to harness our inner strength, trust our instincts, and step confidently into new possibilities with resilience and determination.

Beginning January 1, 2026, the Holistic Honu Wellness Center will be making a small adjustment to our service rates — the first in over a decade. Our one-hour services will change from $120 to $140, with all services priced equally across the board. This includes Lomilomi Massage, Kūkākūkā (healing talk story), and now, Dynamic Body Balancing.

We are also delighted to announce a powerful new addition to our healing team — Dr. Jennifer Tran, DC, a chiropractor specializing in Dynamic Body Balancing. Her skill and presence are a tremendous blessing, and she will be assisting me with some of our more complex cases while also seeing her own private clients here at the center.

Dynamic Body Balancing is an incredible hands-on approach that blends gentle touch, movement, and energy work to restore alignment and flow throughout the body. We are thrilled to offer this transformative work to our community.

🌺 Indigenous Peoples’ Day Message from Holistic Honu Wellness Center

Indigenous Peoples’ Day is a time to honor our resilience, existence, and sovereignty — to remember that we are the living breath of those who came before us and the foundation for those yet to come.

The contributions of Indigenous peoples to art, healing, literature, performance, and scholarship are immeasurable. Each creation — each chant, movement, and handmade work — is a living expression of our brilliance, joy, and endurance.

At the Holistic Honu Wellness Center, we celebrate the beauty, innovation, and cultural vitality that Indigenous peoples carry into every space we touch. Today and every day, we give thanks to our ancestors who dreamed of us, and to our communities who continue to shape a world rooted in balance, aloha, and collective healing.

May this day remind us that our stories are medicine, and our continued presence is a testament to the strength of our people.

November 24, 2024, marked the Holistic Honu Wellness Center’s 20th Anniversary. Our open house highlighted the activities we do that are not massage related. We pounded kapa, printed canvas, made coconut drums and rattles, and explored Hawaiian poetry and wise sayings.

As the last living founder of the Holistic Honu Wellness Center, I want to extend my deepest thanks and heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has tirelessly supported our organization over the past twenty years. From the generous organizations that provided us with spaces to grow, to the dedicated student volunteers and the esteemed Hawaiian masters who shared their profound knowledge—each of you has played an integral role in our journey.

If the past two decades have taught me anything, it is that we can not thrive without the kindness and consideration of others. Your presence, patronage, friendship, and wisdom have been the pillars supporting the Holistic Honu Wellness Center. We could not have persevered without your unwavering support.

It has been a true honor and blessing to serve you throughout these many years. Through your contributions, the vision and intent of our founders continue to be realized and fulfilled.
