☀️ Summer is finally here, and it’s a great reminder that self-care doesn’t always have to be complicated. Wellness is a holistic process that encompasses the various pillars that make up wellness.

Sometimes it’s
🏖️a beach day
🐾a walk in nature
🚙a road trip
🏁a go kart race
🌅a sunset,
Or simply spending quality time with family and friends. The moments that help us recharge are often the ones that bring us back to ourselves.

🌊 Where is your favorite vacation spot or summer getaway?
✈️ Do you leave your state?

Whether it’s across the country or right in your own backyard-
Drop your favorite place to relax, reset, and make memories. ❤️

Only in Salem do the turkeys confidently use the road and the sidewalk like they pay taxes. 🦃😂

Between the wandering wildlife, centuries of history, and a touch of spooky charm, Salem keeps life interesting. A town where the past, the peculiar, and the beautiful somehow coexist perfectly.

Maybe these turkeys are descendants of the original town watch. 👀

The stairs at TD Garden and North Station are painted for Pride, turning an everyday path into a celebration of visibility, inclusion, and community. Small acts of representation can make a big impact.

Love is love. Diversity is strength. Happy Pride Month, Boston! ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜

Journey Well with Jess 🌿

Nervous system healing isn’t just about changing thoughts, it’s about understanding the connection between our brain, body, relationships, and experiences. Through the lens of interpersonal neurobiology, we learn that our nervous systems are shaped in connection and can also heal in connection.

When we’re dysregulated, it may show up as anxiety, anger, avoidance, people-pleasing, overworking, shutting down, difficulty sleeping, or feeling constantly on edge. These responses often developed for a reason.

Every behavior serves a purpose, and every behavior has a function. What may look like a problem behavior is often an adaptation that once helped someone survive, cope, connect, avoid pain, or create a sense of safety. Understanding the function behind behavior can open the door to compassion, curiosity, and healing.

As we build awareness, healthy relationships, boundaries, movement, rest, and self-regulation skills, our nervous systems can learn new ways of responding that better serve us in the present.

Wellness Tip: Instead of asking, “What’s wrong with me?” try asking, “What is my nervous system trying to communicate?” That small shift can create space for understanding and growth.

Healing is not about perfection
It is about creating more moments of safety, connection, and regulation.
