These are the moments. Moments of slowing down, connecting with an animal, clearing the thoughts, and enjoying life. Learning skills, communication, team work, patience and much more when you are working with an animal, especially a horse. Such small things can teacher large life lessons if we pay attention.

This is a huge statement in life.
For many years I really didn’t know what my true passion and gift from God was.

It was when I was around 55-57 years old
When I felt like I was lost in life and couldn’t even remember the things I used to like as a kid or young adult, could not recall the hobbies I liked in the past and was numb to the direction I needed to focus. I did an excessive time praying and talking to God and I involved a life coach in the process to help with steps to recall my passions.
Figured out what always came to the top of the list each time accumulating things I’d like to do in the past. Horses were always at the top of the list.
I hadn’t had a horse is over 25 years. Then what was I going to do to utilize this fact they were my passion. More prayer for direction in life. More human support system. Then what side horse do I start with? Had quarter horses in the past. Always like the minis and the Clydesdales but at 57 years old Clydesdales probably were not the size to start with after it being so long since engaging with horses. So minis it was. Then the search was on. When you find one that’s name was June and your grandmas name was June it perks your interest. When you ask for the color and they say a palomino and your same grandma and grandpa had a palomino the whole time you were growing up it’s a sure sign that’s the one you need to buy. God had a hand in this. Picked her up as her nick name on the farm was JuneBug. A couple years go by more prayer it was time to find another mini. Same lady I dealt with getting JuneBug when I checked with her. She eventually said she had a male. His name was Billy Bob. Couldn’t turn down having a JuneBug and Billy Bob as a combo.
One other piece of making my passion and dreams come true was a gratitude/thankful journaling daily. One of the other blessings I would be thankful for was eventually having a full size horse. This past year I was approached to add a full size horse to my herd. I couldn’t believe that God just kept fulfilling my gratitude/thankful journal list. Then there is Diablo. He’s made my prayers come to life.
Moral of this story is dream big, be thankful for what is going to be in the future because once you believe it can happen you have a much better chance of it happening. Never in our timing but in God’s timing. He is great. 🐴🙏🏼🐴🐴💖

Yesterday morning the mushrooms have created a smile for me everyday as I drive by.

Breakfast was served. No, they do not look up until every piece of grain is gone in their pan unless one finishes before the other then there is a show down for the last granules of grain left in the last one.

The mushrooms have brought out a smile to greet me each day.

Second half of our day yesterday after the mental heath walk/run we went for a short visit to the Memorial Homes.
JuneBug was greeted by the amazing staff with lots of love. We were able to catch some of the residents coming out of their dining room after dinner. Then on to see a family friend couple.
Many smiles 😄 and lots of love 💗 that JuneBug🐴 brings is such a blessing to us as well.

Finished the day off in the kitchen at home baking cookies and brownies.

The Mental Health Awareness group hosted a wonderful event in Holdrege that brought more awareness of this issue in our area.
At times in life we all have had some kind of mental health issues whether we want to admit it or not. It’s ok to ask for help. It’s ok to talk with someone to work through it. It’s ok to have a support system of one or more people.
Life is stressful these days and some days are harder then others. Don’t hold it in, ask for help or support.

Today was a wonderful day as my granddaughter Naomi and I participated in the walk. We had a great time. Met and visited with new and old friends and strangers that become friends.

I love watching the connection the horse get with individuals. I Love that a horses heart rate synchronize with the humans. They help bring the heart rate down to a calm level if they are sad, angry, or anxious.

Thank you to this wonderful group of individuals and all the volunteers that helped make this event happen.

You chuckle for the day.
