We have an incredible NPF family, that are doing big things for the future of Pancreas Cancer and Pancreatitis patients. Dr. Eileen O'Reilly, Chair of our NPF Board of Directors, led the pivotal clinical trial behind the FDA approval of Rasonque (daraxonrasib). 💜💜💜

The FDA has approved daraxonrasib, which will be sold under the brand name Rasonque, for patients with metastatic pancreatic adenocarcinoma who no longer respond to at least one other form of treatment or are not candidates for multiagent systemic therapy.

MSK gastrointestinal medical oncologist Dr. Eileen O'Reilly led the phase 3 clinical trial at MSK that resulted in the approval. The study found that daraxonrasib doubled median survival time compared with chemotherapy, while patients also tolerated its side effects better.

“To date in my career, I have not seen this level of benefit from any single anti-cancer drug in this disease,” says Dr. O’Reilly.

Joseph Gorman is Rebecca’s Wish July Pancreas Pal. When Joseph was diagnosed at 5 we were all devastated because we knew his life would never be normal. We were right he hasn’t had a normal life, but he’s created a special one. He’s always willing to provide solidarity and comfort to new campers and kids just getting diagnosed with hereditary pancreatitis. He’s never said no to providing his resources to research. He’s stood tall and proud and gave his story to a room full of adult advocates in Washington D.C., and notably was the only person who spoke on the importance of mental health with chronic diseases. He’s walked into his local representatives offices and sat through numerous zoom meetings and bravely gave his story to secure research funding for pancreatitis, while my hands were shaking next to him. He’s definitely not normal, he’s special. 💜

When my son was young, all he ever wanted to do was go to a real summer camp; we never thought that would be possible until Camp Hope! It's changed his life in so many beautiful ways. Hops~For~Hope Fundraiser event at Cahaba Brewery in Birmingham, Alabama was a successful fundraising event! Thank you to everyone who volunteered their time, supported the cause and donated to the silent auction. We plan on having more collaborations with the Alabama Pancreas Cancer Research Foundation and UAB’s Pancreatobiliary Disease Center in the future. 💜👏🏼
