Healthy Habit: Keep Healthy Foods at Eye Level in Your Refrigerator 👀🥗
👀 Here’s a small environmental change that can quietly improve your eating habits: put the foods you want to eat more often where you can see them first. When you open the refrigerator, make the most nutritious choices the easiest ones to notice. This isn’t about controlling yourself—it’s about designing your environment to work with you.
🥗 Put washed berries, cut vegetables, Greek yogurt, cottage cheese, boiled eggs, or other everyday staples on the middle shelves or toward the front. Keep ingredients for your regular meals where you can immediately spot them. When you’re hungry and looking for something quickly, visibility can influence which option you choose.
🧠 Our food choices aren’t always carefully planned decisions. We often rely on habits, convenience, and what catches our attention first. Changing the physical environment can therefore reduce the amount of decision-making required. It’s a simple example of using your surroundings to support a behavior you already want to develop.
💚 This doesn’t mean hiding every treat or making your refrigerator look like a diet plan. Foods you enjoy can absolutely remain there too. The goal is simply to give nutritious foods a better position in your everyday environment.
👉 Make the choice you want to repeat easier to see. 👀🥗
