Healthy Aging is a lifestyle. One may either commit to the process, attempt to resist it, or just say, "F**k it, come what may." For now, I choose the former. When I'm up in the triple digits in age, I'll reevaluate my mindset.

This is a lovely course that I will revisit frequently. Genetics, environment, nutrition, stress, activity levels, and personal habits affect us as we age. Our skin requires unique and intentional care that is relevant to each individual.

Full Moon Blessings 🌛🌕🌜

For some reason Fbook has not allowed me to originate posts with a GIF for at least two Moon Cycles.

No matter, I think this is better.

I started my own Moon Time yesterday. 🌜❤️🌛 I always feel extra Witchy when my time aligns with the New or Full Moon.

I appreciate this slideshow that was at the top of my IG feed this morning. In my youth and on into recent years, I'd shun my Moon Time. PMS. Cramping. Irregularities. Misdiagnoses (plural).

Historically, men's bodies have been the benchmark for various anatomical studies. Why?

A while ago I viewed an insightful discussion on the importance of Fascia in our bodies. A woman doctor gave an answer to that "why."

Because historically women's hormones have been seen as a problem. These pesky chemicals get in the way of an outcome, so historically, it was easier to examine and build tests, trials, medications, and even exercises around male anatomy. This is stated broadly. I am well aware men experience their own unique health concerns, challenges, and conditions based on genetic makeup. I am not aware (yet) that men menstruate. 😁 🩸 (well thank you, blood emoji, for coming up when I typed menstruate ❤️).

Misinformation that becomes adopted by the mainstream harms many (see the IG link). It leaves people silenced, misdiagnosed, mistreated, and literally poisoned. Heavy metals found in feminine hygiene products as recently as 2024? Proper studies on, you know, actual menstrual blood, as recently as 2025?

Sure, sure, there are probably more and older proper studies, but I can only post one IG link at a time.

12-year old me never would have dreamed to speak on this. She is proud of 45-year old me. I've come a long way, honey!

Anyway, yes, unique blind studies are needed for all groups and subgroups. It's groovy that medical science continues to progress. Diverse perspectives help diminish the "we've always done it this way" illogic.

Fitting! A groovy friend wrote me this a few days ago.

Today, I turned in my resignation at the part time spa gig in Spring Hill.

Of the three people to give my notice to, the person today was the least expected and most intimidating. I haven't seen him in months.

Me: Hug me!
We hug.
Me: I have this for you.
Him: What is it?....
Him: Is this your two week notice?
Me: Well yeah, but thirty days

Whew! Hard part over. Harder part forthcoming. Now to notify regular clients. 😭

This was my first Florida-based employer. Well, the first that counts.

The distance is one hour, one way. I leave two hours early to arrive on time and set up. Which means I start my day several hours before that.

It's time I put all that extra effort into Daughter Nature Spa LLC 🎃❤️🎃

It feels like it should be scary, but it feels more empowering. On my drive home through the Withlacoochee Forest, I reminded myself again:

I have never let me down. Not ever. I don't plan to start now.

So I must rely on faith, hope, talent, audacity, and grooviness to keep growing as I am meant to grow.

As I intentionally move forward, I have the mindset of, "It's going to work. Because it has to."

And that's that.

In September I will be expanding my hours and growing my Spa menu, so stay tuned! Thank you for choosing you. Thank you for choosing me.

Made it! Tonight's topic is Hot seas, Future Storm Threats, and the Impacts of Climate Change on Florida's Gulf Coast.

As a member of the Sierra Club Adventure Coast Chapter AND as a homeowner and resident of Citrus County AND as business owner in Citrus County AND as a human being with a pulse: this matters.

The things discussed in the 80s when I was a kid have become reality. I must continue to learn about and address as much as I can in a matter that is informed, objective, and hopeful. The future is now, the crisis is now, and there are good people working every day to influence the outcome.
