The patient thought it was dry skin. It wasn’t.
The image is a parasite under the microscope. But this Reel is not really about parasites.
It’s about what skin can reveal when someone is trained to look.
I found this on a patient whose only complaint was itchy patches.
More seriously, I’ve diagnosed leukemia, brain tumors, and systemic toxicities from what I saw on the skin.
Yes, I do lasers and injectables.
But dermatologists study medicine first.
Then we spend years studying skin, hair, and nails.
A persistent rash or itch may be dry skin. But it may not be.
If something on your skin doesn’t go away or doesn’t look right, don’t crowdsource it.
