In Loving Memory of My Dear Father, Dr. Ali Kafi. 3/22/1939 - 06/23/2026.
It is with the deepest sorrow and a heart full of love that I share the passing of my father, Dr. Ali Kafi. A man of quiet strength, boundless generosity, and unwavering devotion, he left us after a life well-lived in service to his family and countless others.
Born in Tehran, Iran, my father completed medical school there before courageously moving to the United States to pursue his residency in General Surgery. What began as a new chapter far from home became the foundation of a remarkable career in Cardiac Surgery in Michigan, where he devoted decades to saving lives and mending hearts—both literally and figuratively.
As the patriarch of the Kafi family, he was our rock. He cared for my mother, Parvin, my sisters Sheila and Anita, and me with tireless love and responsibility. But his role extended far beyond our immediate family—he also supported his parents, siblings, and their children, always putting others first. His quiet sacrifices and steady guidance shaped our lives in ways we will carry forever.
Beyond his professional dedication and family commitment, Dad had a wonderful dry sense of humor. He could lighten any room with a perfectly timed joke, delivered with that signature twinkle in his eye. His laughter and wit were gifts that made even the hardest days brighter.
Dad, thank you for the lessons, the love, the jokes, and the example you set. You taught us what it means to live with purpose, integrity, and heart. We will miss you every single day, but your spirit and legacy will live on in all of us.
Rest in peace, Dad. You are loved beyond measure. ❤️
