The start of a new school year brings a lot of firsts for our kids: new teachers, new friends, new routines, and, for some, the start of high school.

It’s also a great time to start conversations about the choices and pressures they may face. You don’t need to wait for a difficult moment to talk about it. Use the start of the school year as an opportunity to help your teen think through how they might respond to peer pressure, set boundaries, and feel confident making their own choices.

We won’t always be there when these moments happen. But we can help our kids feel prepared before they do. This school year, make room for the conversations that matter. ❤️

With the start of the new school year, your teens are facing fresh challenges and making countless daily decisions. Help them develop the critical thinking skills they need to navigate the school year successfully with these empowering conversation starters!

Instead of jumping in with all the answers, try asking questions that encourage your teen to brainstorm solutions and think independently, promoting problem-solving skills that will benefit them in and out of the classroom.

Understanding the risks associated with adolescent cannabis use is crucial for protecting youth mental health.

Research highlights that adolescent cannabis use is linked to an increased risk of developing psychosis later in life. Developing brains are particularly vulnerable to the effects of high-potency THC, making early intervention and education essential.

Learn more about the research and how factors may moderate this risk by reading the full study:https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/33617756/
