Nobody really prepares women for how bizarre hormones can be.

One minute you’re convinced your life is falling apart, everyone is irritating, your skin stopped cooperating, and the grocery store lighting personally offended you.

Then a few days later you realize… oh. Right.

Anyway, cheers to the women continuing to function, work, care for people, answer emails, and keep moving through life while their hormones quietly try to rewrite the plot.

A house fire has a strange way of changing your relationship with ordinary life.

One minute you’re moving through your normal routines without thinking twice about them, and the next you’re standing outside realizing how quickly everything can change.

Lately I’ve been spending a lot of time near the little pond behind our house watching the loons completely lose their minds over territory every morning, and for whatever reason it’s been grounding me more than I can explain.

Maybe because nature keeps moving without asking permission. Maybe because life keeps showing up quietly even after hard things happen.

I don’t know. I just think this season has made me realize how much of life is happening in the small moments we normally rush through.

I’ve only had laser done once.

I actually scheduled it twice before that and rescheduled both appointments because we had powder days the next morning and I knew I’d end up outside.

That’s the part people don’t always think about with treatments like this. The treatment itself is only part of it. Protecting your skin afterward matters just as much.

Sun exposure, especially right after laser, can bring pigmentation right back and undo a lot of what you just paid for. The healing period matters. The consistency afterward matters too.

And honestly, spoiler alert… time keeps moving either way.

No treatment stops skin from aging forever. The goal has never really been to outrun time. It’s to support your skin well while you’re living your life.
