Hey you guys! ❤️
I’ve been sitting with the tragedy that has struck our community and I keep coming back to the same feeling that we need somewhere to put all of these feelings. The grief. The shock. The anger. The fear. The helplessness. The heartbreak. The pain and the things we don’t even have the words for yet.
I had the idea to offer a group community breathwork session for anyone who feels like they need a place to come together and be surrounded by other people who are carrying some of the same heaviness. I know it has affected us all on some level.
Breathwork is a powerful healing modality aimed at releasing stored emotions, recalibrating your inner compass, healing what needs addressed, and improving your overall wellbeing and mental health. Whether you are a first responder, the family, knew the family, or are simply carrying the same hollowness and helplessness so many of us are feeling, I’d love to create a space where I could support everyone.
This wouldn’t be about fixing anything or pretending that deep breathing on a mat can make something this devastating go away. It’s about coming together as a collective to honor the victims, process grief, and feel less alone.
I would make it donation-based, with 100% of the proceeds going toward supporting the families of the victims. It’s not much, but it’s one small act of service and solidarity I feel like I can offer our grieving community.
So with that being said, does anyone know of (or have access to) a large space where I could hold this? Ideally somewhere that could accommodate a good number of people comfortably.
If you have a space, a connection, an idea, or even just a lead, please reach out to me. I would love to make this happen. Ideally it would be the same week as the community-wide fundraising efforts Justin and Jennifer are organizing and we could add the money to the total raised.
