AMP is a collaboration between St. Vincent Healthcare, Ortho Montana and Yellowstone Surgery Center Vincent Healthcare to offer its sports performance program.

OUR HISTORY:
Located in Billings, Montana, Athletic Medicine & Performance (AMP) began in 1992 as a collaboration between St. Vincent Healthcare and two orthopedic practices: Montana Orthopedics & Sports Medicine and Orthopedic Surgeons & Sports Medicine. Their goal was to help athletes prevent injuries and, if injuries did occur, to provide them the absolute best medical care. In order to do so, they offered local area high schools and colleges the opportunity to have certified athletic trainers work with their athletes at no cost. In addition, certified athletic trainers - and the physicians themselves - were on the sidelines of athletic events, ready to offer assistance when needed. Since that time, their work in communities both large and small has helped to ensure that athletes of all ages and skill levels receive the training they need for peak performance and to stay healthy. More than 1000 athletes have excelled in their chosen sport after completing the well-known Montana Athletic Performance program (now the POWER program) and hundreds have been able to return to athletic competition after completing the ACL-recovery program. In 2008, the two orthopedic practices merged to form Ortho Montana, while continuing to work with St. Later that year, in order to expand the outreach and service efforts of its sports medicine and performance, the group added a third partner, Yellowstone Surgery Center, and reintroduced itself as AMP, Athletic Medicine & Performance. Big games. Big moments. AMP is there!

From Friday night football and college athletics to state cross country and high school soccer playoffs, it's another action-packed weekend for Montana athletes!

This weekend, Ortho Montana providers and athletic trainers are covering 16 sporting events, helping keep athletes safe, evaluating injuries, and providing care when it matters most.

Our dedicated Ortho Montana Sports Medicine Physicians, including Dr. Elliott, Dr. Klepps, Dr. Phipps, Dr. Hart, and Dr. Spears, work alongside our outstanding team of athletic trainers to support athletes both on and off the field.

Yesterday marked another successful Sideline Help Coaches' Clinic, proudly hosted by Ortho Montana for the 30th year!

A big THANK YOU to all the coaches, athletic trainers, and community members who joined us to learn, share knowledge, and strengthen their ability to recognize, respond to, and manage athletic injuries.

We're especially grateful to our Ortho Montana Sports Medicine Physicians and Providers who shared their time and expertise to help prepare coaches for the moments when their athletes need them most.

For 30 years, this clinic has been part of our commitment to supporting local athletics and making sports safer for the next generation.
