The schoolbooks taught me how to make a living. Life taught me how to build a business that lets me work from a campsite while still serving my patients. Grateful for both.

📕 Not all studies are created equal.
When reviewing information about hormone therapy, weight, loss, supplements, or health in general, here are a few questions to ask:
What type of study is this?
Randomize controlled trials, generally provide stronger evidence than observational studies, case reports, or expert opinions.
How many participants were included?
A study of 20 people may not carry the same weight as a study of 2000.
Who were the participants?
Were they similar to you in age, s*x, health status, or stage of life?
Was there a control or a comparison group? Without one, it's difficult to know whether the intervention actually caused the results.
How long was the study? A 12 week study may not tell us what happens over a 5 to 10 year period.
Who funded the study? Funding doesn't automatically invalidate research, but it's important to understand potential biases.
What was the actual outcome? Look beyond the headlines. Did the study measure meaningful health outcomes or just surrogate markers? Does it align with a broader body of evidence? One study rarely changes practice. The strongest conclusions come from multiple steady showing similar results.
Remember, research is a tool, not a conclusion. The best health decisions come from combining quality, evidence, clinical expertise, and individual patient factors.

POV: You're 51.

At 49, I started my own practice with equal parts determination, faith, and maybe a little reckless abandon.

Over the last 22 months, I've poured countless hours into building something I truly believe in. I've had the privilege of meeting incredible women, hearing their stories, and helping them navigate the changes that come with midlife and beyond.

Somewhere along the way, while taking care of everyone else, I noticed the same thing I teach my patients every day: muscle mass doesn't maintain itself, visceral fat doesn't magically disappear, and health is something we have to actively invest in.

I am so excited to work with Sole Strength, Sarah Diaz. I will keep you updated regularly

Here is an example of how GLP 1 medication, habit changes, and a structured plan can positively impact overall health.

After 2 months of commitment and hard work:
• Hemoglobin A1C decreased from 6.4% to 6.1%
• Liver enzymes improved
• Metabolic health is moving in the right direction

This is why the conversation around GLP 1 medications matters. It is not just about weight. It is about improving health markers, reducing future risk, and helping people feel better from the inside out.

The medication is one tool. The real magic comes from consistency, guidance, education, and sustainable change over time.

Word finding difficulty, forgetfulness, brain fog, and difficulty focusing deserve attention, not dismissal.

Nearly 2 out of 3 Americans living with Alzheimer’s are women. But there are also things we can do to support and protect brain health over time.

Sleep. Movement. Metabolic health. Blood pressure. Stress management. Nutrition. Hormonal health. Social connection. Learning. Reducing inflammation.

Brain health is not just about aging. It is part of whole body health.

Women deserve to have these conversations taken seriously. (alz.org)
