🌼 Congratulations to Our DAISY Award Honoree 🌼

Please join us in celebrating Audriann our latest DAISY Award recipient! Audriann is a registered nurse that works in Main Tower 4 at UHS Wilson Medical Center.

Audriann was nominated by a patient for providing a warm and steady presence after a frightening night in the ER - bringing comfort, connection, and hope throughout the stay. 💛

“On the hard days, when my recovery stalled and we had to cancel our family trip, Audriann refused to let me lose hope. She taught me to visualize myself healthy,” the patient wrote. “I am still recovering at home. When I feel frustrated, I still hear her voice. She gave me not just nursing care, but a way to keep going. There is no one more deserving of this award.”

Rain or shine, our nurses showed up strong 💪🌧️🏃‍♀️

We had an amazing time at the Corporate Challenge, with our team taking on both the 5K and the timed mile with plenty of energy and team spirit!

While the weather had other plans and washed out the executive mile and 3-mile relay, it definitely didn’t dampen our enthusiasm. ☔
Turns out we’re pretty good at running outside too. Who knew all those laps around the hospital would pay off? 😉

Proud of this crew for getting out there, representing nursing, and supporting one another every step (and mile!) of the way. Looking forward to the next race—hopefully with a little less rain and just as much fun!

UHS is proud to continue recognizing the outstanding contributions of our non-licensed nursing support staff through the Sunshine Award program. Please join us in congratulating Michelle, Nursing Assistant on the Medical Unit at UHS Delaware Valley Hospital, our latest Sunshine Award winner! 💛

Nominated by a patient, Michelle was praised for her uplifting positivity and “can-do” attitude. The patient shared how Michelle put her at ease and protected her dignity while assisting with personal care, always showing compassion and respect.

💬 “Michelle has mastered the art of positivity in her approach to a patient’s needs,” the patient wrote. "She demonstrates professionalism at all times, which I am certain is a positive reflection on the hospital. I feel honored to have her be a part of my care team!”

🌟 Student Spotlight: Aleyna 🌟

Shoutout to Aleyna, one of our fantastic Student Nurse Externs! 💙 Her compassion, positive attitude, and drive to learn make her a valued part of our team.

Aleyna hopes to become a nurse educator one day—helping inspire the next generation of nurses. She represents the future of nursing—driven, compassionate, and resilient. She has shared that she hopes to become a nurse educator one day, inspiring and preparing the next generation of nurses. 👩‍⚕️✨

Our Student Nurse Extern Program provides hands-on clinical experience and mentorship, helping future nurses build skills and confidence in a supportive environment.

We’re excited to be part of her journey and can’t wait to see all she accomplishes in her nursing career!

On May 14, members of the UHS Internal Nursing Faculty Pool joined SUNY Sullivan's Class of 2026 to celebrate their pinning ceremony, making their official start in the nursing profession! 👏

During the past academic year, Kristen, Brittany, Katrina, Megan, Danielle and Salim served as clinical faculty for SUNY Sullivan. Through their commitment and expertise, our partnership with SUNY Sullivan has led to measurable improvements in the program and helped support a strong pipeline of new nurses.

We were proud to welcome seven SUNY Sullivan graduates into UHS roles in 2026. 🎓🩺

Please join us in celebrating Melissa Glezen our latest DAISY Award recipient! 🎉 Melissa is a registered nurse that works in South Tower 3 at UHS Wilson Medical Center.

Melissa was nominated by a patient for her exceptional care and compassion during a rapid response. Melissa stayed right by the patient’s side—offering constant reassurance and a calming presence during an overwhelming situation.

She also went above and beyond to keep the patient’s family informed and was incredibly attentive in supporting the patient not only during the event, but before and after as well.
