Journeying with Jazz I am going to document my journey to be “cured”... What is sickle cell? Sickle cell is a genetic blood disorder that affects the red blood cells (RBCs).

The RBCs are shaped like a “sickle” or crescent moon. They are very sticky and rigid unlike normal RBCs. Sickle Cells can cause blockages in blood vessels causing severe pain.
