September was an amazing month for Rescuer!

We taught future nurses at the University of Alabama, installed AEDs at multiple locations, and hosted our Rescuer Vendor Event.

Because of everyone who supported the vendor event we raised enough to sponsor an additional two fire recruits to add to the two we already sponsor!

That makes four scholarships this year!

These are the things we prayed and worked for, and we are grateful for every opportunity.

Thank you for being part of this mission. We couldn't do it without you!

Check out these shots from our University of Alabama nursing BLS training! This is always such a fun class to teach. The students show up ready to learn, ask great questions, and get hands on with the skills. We’re excited to see them carry that energy into their nursing careers and help others when it matters most.

Today I climbed 110 floors with my crew to remember those who lost their lives 25 years ago on September 11, 2001.

We remember the firefighters and first responders who died that day, and those who died years later from the exposures they faced at Ground Zero. We remember their families, who are still living with that loss 25 years later.

Each year, 9/11 hits me differently. I first thought about it as a young firefighter. Now I think about it as a husband and a dad. Life has given me a deeper understanding of what those men were leaving behind when they went into the towers. They knew people needed help, and they went anyway and did their job.

There are firefighters on the job today who weren’t even born when it happened. It’s our responsibility to keep telling the stories of that day. The lives lost, the families affected, and the thousands of lives saved.

I’m grateful to be part of a profession built on showing up for others. I pray we never forget.

Some of the best ideas in the fire service come from firefighters seeing a problem firsthand and deciding there has to be a better way.

That’s exactly what Cahaba Fire Company is doing with the FireWedge.

We’re excited to have Ryan King joining us at the Rescuer Vendor Event and showcasing a product built specifically for the demands of the fire service. The FireWedge is an all-in-one tool designed for vehicle stabilization, ladder leveling, and wheel chocking, helping departments work safer while also cutting down on the amount of equipment taking up space on the apparatus.

It’s made right here in the USA and was developed around a simple goal: give first responders a tool that helps them do the job safer, faster, and more reliably.

Come meet Ryan, get your hands on the FireWedge, and see what Cahaba Fire Company is bringing to the fire service at the Rescuer Vendor Event on September 19th at Cahaba Brewing.

We appreciate Ryan and the Cahaba Fire Company team for supporting the event and the Rescuer Scholarship.
