Congratulations to our recent Pre-Apprenticeship graduates ! 🎓

We are incredibly proud of the hard work, dedication, and growth these 6 students from Carver High School have shown over the past 3 months. Through hands-on training and career exploration, they gained valuable workplace readiness skills and earned both OSHA-10 and forklift certifications, giving them industry-recognized credentials that will support them as they enter the workforce and continue their education. These graduates are now pursuing exciting next steps in fields including welding, computer science, lineman programs, police work, and other skilled professions.

A special thank you to the Program Coordinator, Ashanti, for the support, encouragement, and leadership she provided to students throughout the program. We are also grateful to Alabama Department of Rehabilitation Services and Birmingham BOLD (City of Birmingham: Department of Innovation and Economic Opportunity) for funding this opportunity and believing in the potential of these young adults, and we are continually thankful for the support of Birmingham City Schools.

Thank you to Motion for serving as our host site and providing students with a welcoming environment to learn, grow, and gain meaningful workplace experience. Partnerships like these help create real opportunities for the next generation of skilled workers.

We cannot wait to see all that these graduates accomplish in the future.👏🎉

We had an awesome group of students from Oneonta High School participate in a work task training class as part of United Ability’s Transition Services program!🔧

In this session, students explored basic mechanic skills that can support entry-level roles at oil change or mechanic shops. Every student was engaged, asked thoughtful questions, and showed a real eagerness to learn.

They practiced checking fluid levels, measuring and adjusting tire pressure, inspecting visible hoses and belts, and getting familiar with common tools used in the field.

A huge thank you to Bobby McCray for taking the time to share his knowledge and help equip these students with valuable, real-world skills.
