My brain is buzzing, my mind is racing, and my heart is so incredibly full.

I’ve already started implementing some of the things I’ve learned in these classes with a few of my CLTS clients and several of my regular massage clients. What excites me most isn’t just what happens during a session—it’s the doors that are opening for communication, education, awareness, and continued wellness long after someone leaves my office.

These classes have reinforced something I’ve always believed: healing doesn’t stop when the massage ends. It continues through understanding, support, connection, and having the right tools and resources available along the way.

I am so grateful to have a few days to slow down, reflect, organize my thoughts, and begin putting everything I’ve learned into practice. The possibilities feel endless right now, and I honestly cannot wait to see where this journey leads.

Whether it’s through massage therapy, CLTS services, pediatric touch therapy, palliative care, trauma-informed care, or simply helping people feel seen, heard, and supported, I know this is exactly where I’m meant to be.

The future of Heather’s Balancing Touch feels bigger than ever, and I am so excited for what’s ahead. ❤️

Thank you to everyone who trusts me with your care, your stories, your families, and your healing journey. Every class, every client, and every experience continues to remind me why I love this work so much. 💜✨🦋

One of my favorite things about being a small business owner is connecting with other women who are passionate about what they do. There is something special about finding people who truly understand the hard work, dedication, and heart that goes into building a business and serving a community.

I truly believe some people come into our lives at exactly the right time, and that’s how this friendship feels.

Today Mia got to do her Taylor Swift photoshoot, and watching her excitement and confidence grow every time she steps into the studio is so much fun. She absolutely loves her time there, and it shows.

I am incredibly grateful for the friendship we’ve built, the support we’ve given each other, and the opportunity to work alongside another woman who leads with passion, creativity, and kindness.

Small businesses thrive when we support one another, cheer each other on, and celebrate each other’s successes. I’m thankful our paths crossed and excited to see where both of our journeys continue to lead.

Thank you for another wonderful day, Sharee. ❤️ and Sharee Schocknk ySchock Photographycapture behind scenes pictures and videos of you in your magic. 📸

What an amazing 10 days of classes.

Ten days of learning, growing, being challenged, and stepping into a whole new way of looking at the work I love.

The classes themselves were incredible, but honestly, one of the biggest accomplishments might have been surviving online learning, communication emails, and all the technology that came along with it. Anyone who knows me knows that’s not exactly where my strengths shine. Some days I feel like a confident business owner, and other days I function more like a 14-year-old trying to figure out how adulthood works.

What an interesting journey.

For the last 10 years, I thought I knew this profession well. These classes showed me there is so much more. More growth. More opportunity. More compassion. More understanding. More strength. More encouragement. More guidance. New friendships. New perspectives. And a renewed love for the work I get to do every day.

The Liddle Kidz Foundation and these instructors have challenged me to slow down, listen deeper, and truly meet people where they are. That lesson doesn’t just apply to children—it applies to everyone.

I can’t wait to bring everything I’ve learned home to my clients, my families, my CLTS kids, and my community.

It’s funny… it feels like I’ve been gone forever, yet somehow it also feels like I’ve come home at the same time.

My heart is full, my brain is overflowing, and I’m excited to see where this next chapter leads.

Class Day 💛

Today is Pediatric Cancer.

And while we spent time learning about supporting children through cancer treatment, I kept finding myself thinking about something bigger.

When a child is diagnosed, it’s never just one person affected.

It’s the parents trying to be strong when they’re terrified.
The siblings whose lives suddenly change.
The grandparents who would trade places in a heartbeat.
The friends, caregivers, nurses, teachers, and family members all carrying pieces of the journey.

One child can have an entire village hurting, hoping, praying, celebrating victories, and holding their breath through setbacks.

This class wasn’t just a reminder of how important touch can be for a child.

It was a reminder that healing, comfort, and connection matter for everyone standing beside them too.

Some days these classes fill my notebook.

Today filled my heart.

10 days.

Five classes.

Two days each.

4 more days to go

A lifetime of learning, resources, mentorship, research, and the ability to continue asking questions long after I leave this classroom.

What I love most about the Liddle Kidz Foundation is that they truly believe every child matters. Every child deserves to be seen, heard, respected, and supported exactly where they are.

While these classes focus on infants, children, trauma, pediatric cancer, special needs, and palliative care, every lesson applies to every person who walks through my door.

If you’re one of my regular clients, I’ve probably thought about you this week.

I’ve thought about the person carrying stress in their shoulders every day.

The person who hasn’t slept well in years.

The person navigating anxiety, grief, trauma, chronic pain, sensory challenges, or simply trying to make it through another busy week.

One of the biggest things this training has reinforced is that healing rarely happens in a single appointment. It happens through safety, trust, consistency, education, support, and being truly seen as a whole person.

What excites me most is that if we can support children earlier, teach regulation earlier, provide safe touch earlier, and help families understand the nervous system earlier, we can give them tools that last a lifetime.

The trauma-informed classes have affected me in ways I wasn’t expecting. They’ve helped me better understand my own experiences, my own nervous system, my children, and many of the people closest to me.

There have been moments where I’ve sat back and thought, “Oh… that’s why.”

Not in a sad way.

Not in a broken way.

Just in a way that brings understanding, compassion, and perspective.

The more I learn about trauma, regulation, safe touch, and how our bodies store experiences, the more I understand that every person who walks through my door is carrying a story I may never fully know.

That realization is making me a better therapist, parent, partner, friend, and human being.

I am incredibly grateful to be able to spend 10 straight days learning. My brain loves building one class on top of another, connecting the dots, finding patterns, and bringing everything together into something meaningful that I can bring home to my clients and community.

Every class has reminded me why I do this work.

Every class has given me new tools.

Every class has reinforced that this is exactly where I’m supposed to be.

My cup is full. My heart is full. My notebook is full.

And somehow, I’m still making room for more. 💙

Some classes are good. Some classes change your life.

I’ve taken dozens and dozens of continuing education classes over the years, but these ones truly matter.

This work is the path I’m meant to be on—working with kids, children with special needs, infants, families, and people who simply want to be seen for who they are and met where they are.

These classes through the LIDDLEKIDZ Foundation have taught me to slow down, be patient, and look at things differently. Pediatric massage is nothing like adult massage. Even the way we explain massage to a child matters. What makes sense to an adult can sound scary, overwhelming, or confusing to a child.

The LIDDLEKIDZ Foundation’s motto is “A Work of Heart,” and after spending time in these classes, I understand exactly what that means. This work isn’t just about massage. It’s about connection, communication, trust, advocacy, education, and helping children feel safe in their bodies and in the world around them.

Now I have new tools, new words, new ways to communicate, presentations, literature, research, and an entire community of professionals standing behind the importance of infant massage, pediatric massage, and massage for children with special needs. More importantly, I have a deeper understanding of how to meet children where they are and support them in a way that honors who they are.

Being one of the few providers in Wisconsin with this level of specialized pediatric massage training is something I don’t take lightly. I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to learn from leaders in this field and bring this knowledge back to the families, caregivers, schools, social workers, and healthcare professionals in my community.

I am excited to continue learning and growing—not just for myself, but for my family, my clients, and my community. I truly believe this education will help me advocate for children and families in ways that go far beyond a one-on-one session.

Every child deserves to feel safe. Every child deserves to be seen. Every child deserves to be understood.

I cannot wait to come home and put this knowledge into practice. ❤️

Sometimes my job isn’t massage at all.

Sometimes it’s something completely different, but still part of the same journey—showing up with love, support, and care for the people around us.

This weekend was one of those moments. I had the honor of officiating the wedding of some dear friends, and I also got to spend the day working alongside my amazing friend Ashley from Wild Roots Photography.

Ashley wears just as many hats as I do, and it was an absolute blast being part of this wedding with her. I love her eye for photography, her style, her creativity, and most of all the genuine love she pours into the people she serves. Not many people like her are left in this world—people who show up wholeheartedly for their friends, clients, and community.

If you haven’t already, go check out Wild Roots Photography, give her page some love, and support a truly wonderful local business this summer. ❤️

And to our friends who trusted me to stand beside them and marry them—thank you. What a beautiful reminder that sometimes the best part of my job has nothing to do with massage and everything to do with people.
