Congratulations on the FDA approval, Dr. Maxwell!

For the one in 10 people who suffer from kidney stones, a noninvasive treatment can provide much-needed relief.

Now, a technology developed by Virginia Tech researchers has received FDA approval for a new approach that’s even safer, causes less damage to the kidney, and can be administered without anesthesia and in an office setting.

Congratulations to the Drone Team and MicroMek!

From Blacksburg to the United Nations 🌍

A Virginia Tech team developed drone technology to safely collect water samples in Malawi, where a waterborne parasite puts nearly half the population at risk. The project earned a spot in a UN Food and Agriculture Organization incubator — and along the way, helped nine Malawian women start their own businesses.
