🌎🦿 Real impact happens together.

Being selected as a 2026 .ORG Impact Awards finalist in the Health & Healing category is an incredible honor for Hope To Walk — but this recognition represents so much more than our organization.

It represents every amputee who trusted us with their journey.

Every volunteer who gave their time and their hands.

Every donor who believed their support could help someone walk again.

Every partner who helped us bring prosthetic care to another community.

And every unforgettable first step. ❤️

From a simple idea of building an affordable, sustainable prosthetic leg to helping people regain mobility, independence, dignity, and HOPE around the world — none of this happens alone.

Your donations directly help people receive prosthetic legs and give our team the ability to continue reaching communities where access to prosthetic care can be extremely limited.

To be recognized alongside mission-driven organizations from around the world reminds us just how far this mission has traveled — and how much further we can go together.

This recognition belongs to all of us. 🙌🏾

Thank you for believing in Hope To Walk and for continuing to help people walk again.

20 years without a prosthetic. Today, Rolando is walking again. 🦿❤️

Rolando received his last prosthetic leg when he was a child. By age 13, he had outgrown it—and for the next 20 years, he lived without one.

After being told by several places that his unique limb would be too difficult to fit, a simple WhatsApp message eventually connected him with Hope To Walk.

One week later, Rolando came to our clinic. Just 3 hours after arriving, he was taking his first steps in 20 years. 🙌🏾

And what a special moment to share. Virginia Tech students, along with Nathan, a prosthetist, and Theresa, a physical therapist, were here to work alongside our team and be part of building and fitting Rolando’s new leg.

Sometimes it takes a team willing to say, “Let’s find a way.”

Welcome back to walking, Rolando. ❤️

One leg. One life. One step at a time.

🌎🦿 WE ARE FINALISTS!

We are incredibly proud to announce that Hope To Walk has been selected as a finalist in the Health & Healing category of the 2026 .ORG Impact Awards!

This recognition feels especially meaningful when we look at the scale of this year’s awards:

4,242 entries.
145 countries.
35 finalists.

And Hope To Walk is one of them. ❤️

But this recognition isn’t just about our organization.

It’s about every person who has walked through our doors hoping for another chance to walk.

It’s about every first step.

Every prosthetic leg built.

Every volunteer who has gotten their hands dirty.

Every donor who believed that $250 could help change someone’s life.

Every partner who helped us bring this simple and sustainable prosthetic solution to another community.

And most importantly, it’s about the amputees who remind us every day why this work matters.

What started with the simple idea of helping people walk again has grown into something reaching communities across countries and continents — and we are incredibly grateful to see that work recognized on a global stage.

Thank you to everyone who has walked alongside Hope To Walk.

This recognition belongs to all of you.

The winners will be receiving an award on October 6, 2026. 🎉

This week, our Hope To Walk family grew a little bigger. 🦿❤️

We had the privilege of welcoming an incredible group of volunteers who traveled from different parts of the U.S. to Guatemala — four students, a prosthetist, and his wife, a physical therapist — bringing valuable supplies and, most importantly, a willingness to learn, serve, and get their hands to work.

They experienced our clinic days firsthand, learned the Hope To Walk process, worked alongside our team, and helped us build 7 prosthetic legs this week — 7 lives impacted.

We are incredibly grateful for people who take the time to travel, step into our world, and truly understand what goes into helping someone walk again.

They are now back home in the U.S., but the impact they left behind continues with every step our patients take.

Thank you for your time, your hands, your hearts, and your support. Safe travels home, and we hope to see you again! 🙏🌎

Different stories. Different journeys. Same unforgettable moment: the first steps. ❤️

There’s something incredibly special about watching someone stand up and walk again—sometimes after months, sometimes after years.

Today was one of those days that reminds us how blessed we are to be able to give back, serve others, and witness these moments firsthand.

One leg at a time. One life at a time. One step at a time. 🦿🌎

Blessed day. Grateful hearts. Let’s keep helping people walk again. 🙏

A busy day at the clinic — and 4 more people are walking again! 🦿❤️

This week, Virginia Tech students are here with us in Guatemala, getting to experience firsthand what a Hope To Walk clinic day looks like — meeting our patients, seeing the process, and witnessing those unforgettable first steps.

Thanks to their support, we also have more supplies in hand to keep building legs and changing lives.

4 people today. Many more to come.

Let’s keep going! 💪🌎🦿

Over the past four days, our team has been in Siguatepeque, Honduras, where we built 20 prosthetic legs—giving 20 more amputees the opportunity to walk toward a brighter future.

But this mission was about more than just the number of lives changed.

We had the privilege of meeting an incredible team from Proyecto Aldea Global—a group of passionate individuals who share our vision and are eager to bring Hope To Walk’s model to Honduras. Their commitment to serving their own communities has been truly inspiring.

The next step is to welcome them to Guatemala for hands-on training, where they will become certified Hope To Walk prosthetic technicians. Once trained, they’ll return home equipped to continue building legs and restoring mobility for years to come.

This is how lasting change happens—not by simply delivering prosthetic legs, but by empowering local people to serve their own communities.

We’re excited for what lies ahead and grateful to be expanding alongside the right people, united by the same mission: restoring mobility, independence, and hope.
