Comfrey is basically nature’s “get your s**t together” herb. 🌿

It contains allantoin, soothing plant mucilage and protective phenolic compounds—all fancy ways of saying it helps calm, soften and support unhappy skin and tissue.

Comfrey was historically called “knitbone” because people used it externally for centuries in poultices and compresses over broken bones and other injuries. It has also traditionally been used in infused oils and salves for bumps, bruises, sprains and sore muscles.

Using comfrey internally is highly controversial in the herbal world, so for the purpose of this post, we’re sticking with topical use. Do your own research, learn from trusted herbal educators and make informed decisions for yourself.

Avoid applying it to deep wounds or badly broken skin.

Have you ever used comfrey? Save this for later and share it with your herb-loving friends. 🤎

Turns out my “aesthetic” is just healing generational trauma, raising feral-but-kind humans, questioning everything, making s**t from scratch, and trying not to lose my mind in the process. 😂

If this sounds like you too, welcome to the beautifully unhinged side of motherhood. Send this to your kind of mom. 🤝

ACV rinse update 🌿🍎

Still going strong with my herbal-infused ACV rinse — and my hair is LOVING the simplicity. Less products, less buildup, and my scalp + curls are feeling so good.

Turns out hair care really doesn’t need to be a 12-step routine. 😂

Goldenrod gets blamed for allergies every year while ragweed is over there getting away with murder. 😂🌼

Meanwhile, goldenrod is one of my FAVORITE late-summer herbs — traditionally used for seasonal respiratory support, beautiful in topical herbal preparations, AND an incredibly important late-season food source for our pollinators. 🐝

Just another “weed” that turns out to be pretty freaking useful once you actually get to know it. 🌿

Calendula 🌼 One of those herbs that looks sweet and simple… but is an absolute POWERHOUSE.

Calendula has been used traditionally for generations to support the skin thanks to its soothing, nourishing + skin-loving properties.

🌼 Helps calm irritated, sensitive skin
🌼 Supports the skin’s natural healing process
🌼 Rich in beneficial plant compounds like flavonoids + carotenoids
🌼 Beautiful infused into oils for salves, balms + skincare
🌼 Gentle enough that it’s one of my absolute FAVORITE herbs to formulate with

And fun fact: the sticky, resinous feel on calendula flowers? THAT’S GOOD STUFF. 🙌 Don’t wash it away before drying your flowers!

This is why you’ll find calendula infused into so many of my formulas. I don’t add herbs just because they sound pretty on a label—I want them to actually DO something. 🌿

The beauty industry has perfected the business model:

Create an insecurity → sell the solution → create another problem → sell another solution → repeat until your bathroom looks like a Sephora stockroom.

Strip your skin. Buy the barrier repair.

Dry it out. Buy the hydration.

Cover your texture. Buy the primer.

Cover the primer. Buy the foundation.

Powder away the glow. Buy the highlighter to PUT THE FU***NG GLOW BACK. 💀

And now a completely normal human face somehow requires 37 products before we’re allowed to leave the house?!

I literally formulate skincare and makeup for a living and even I’m saying WE HAVE LOST THE PLOT.

I love beauty products.

I do not love consumerism dressed up as self-care while convincing women there’s always one more thing about themselves that needs “fixing.”

Your routine doesn’t need 5,000 steps.

Buy less. Choose intentionally. Use what actually works for you.

And for the love of all things holy, let your pores exist. 😂

Week 2 of washing my hair with nothing but my herbal-infused ACV rinse 🌿🍎

No shampoo. No 12-step hair routine. 😅

Just ACV infused with herbs like comfrey, calendula, rose, lavender + marshmallow root, diluted with water and worked through my scalp + hair.

And so far… my hair is actually LOVING the simplicity.

Less buildup, my scalp feels fresh, and my natural texture is coming through without coating it in a million products.

Am I officially a no-poo girl now?! 😂🌿

I’ll keep documenting the experiment because I need to know what happens after a full month.

It starts as white powder… and then the magic happens. 👀✨

This is one of my favorite parts of creating makeup from scratch — grinding, blending, adjusting, and watching the pigment slowly come to life.

No premade shades over here. Just a cosmetologist with a grinder, a formula, and a slight obsession with getting the color just right. 😂

From raw minerals → to the makeup that ends up on your skin. 🤍

POV: You ask me what I do for a living and suddenly it sounds like I need a lawyer. 😂🌿

For legal purposes, it’s skincare, makeup, herbs & homeschooling.
For entertainment purposes… mind your business. 🤣

Two steps. That’s it. 🌿✨

Your morning skincare routine doesn’t need 12 products to give your skin what it needs.

🌸 Aphrodite Toner — a botanical blend of hydrosols and skin-loving ingredients featuring calendula, tulsi + neroli to refresh, hydrate and prep the skin.

🌿 Morning Dew Serum — organic herbs slowly infused into nourishing botanical oils, featuring calendula, elderflower, rose + yarrow to leave skin soft, supported and GLOWING.

Simple. Botanical. Intentional.

Because skincare should feel less like a chemistry experiment and more like something your skin actually recognizes. 🤎

Aphrodite → Morning Dew → go live your damn life. ✌️
