We completed our first week at IHHH focusing on our first comic horse character and his strengths. Yogi the horse is brave, expressive, and always ready to experience new things while inviting others along with him.

Participants created their own branding symbol that represented their personal strengths and then painted their brand onto the horse as part of the experience.

We continue our cowboy themed series, with 3 more classes. Week 2 focuses on the gentle and sensitive souls who naturally care for others, love deeply, and often put the needs of others before themselves.

June 10th, our next session, participants will receive a special memento representing the many practical uses it offered a true working cowboy or cowgirl, while also exploring how we can better support and care for one another in everyday life.

In our 4 week series, participants learn to recognize the strengths in their own natural way of moving through the world within a supportive, fun, and engaging learning environment. Through connection, creativity, and hands on experiences with the horses, both participants and horses benefit from the relationship and interaction, creating a rewarding experience for everyone involved.

Sometimes healing looks a lot like this:
A horse playing with a ball.
Curious. Present. Fully alive in the moment.

Agustus reminds us of something many people forget along the way…
we were never meant to survive life only through grit and exhaustion.

There is wisdom in remembering our inner child, in laughter, in movement and in moments that make us feel light again.

At Indiana Horses Helping Humans, we encourage people to look for the glimmers, not the dimmers, in the moments that bring breath back into the body.
We learn to soften the shoulders, slow the racing mind, and reconnect to joy, purpose, and vitality.

Our programs are inspired by the Sue Spencer Horses Helping Humans approach, which supports a healthier, more balanced nervous system through connection, awareness, rhythm, and relationship.

This is not therapy nor performance.
But it is healing by way of meaningful experiences that help people rediscover steadiness, confidence, playfulness, and presence.

Because healing is not only about pushing through.
Sometimes it is about learning how to feel alive again.

What’s your glimmer?

Today, on Memorial Day, we pause in remembrance of the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. 🇺🇸

At Indiana Horses Helping Humans, we honor the sacrifice carried not only by those we have lost, but by the families, veterans, and communities forever changed by service.

Our work with horses is rooted in connection, steadiness, and creating space for people to breathe, reflect, and reconnect with themselves and others. We are deeply grateful to those who gave everything for the freedoms we experience each day.

Today we honor, remember and give thanks. 🐴☘️

Fresh Hay Delivery and Champ shows his gratitude! Stay tuned to the end. 💋💋💋

Sometimes the best thing you can do is slow down and stop and smell the hay. 🌾🐴

Champ was pretty sure this delivery deserved a few extra kisses today, and honestly… we agree.

Some horses speak the loudest in the quiet. 🤍

Augustus and Jasmine are our softer souls — the ones who don’t rush, don’t demand, and somehow invite you to simply be still. They each carry a gentle sensitivity that naturally draws people closer, creating space for calm, reflection, and connection.

Jasmine meets the world with tenderness and deep empathy, reminding us that healing often begins in quiet understanding. Augustus, with his giant heart and peaceful presence, has a way of grounding everyone around him. Together, they teach that strength doesn’t always have to be loud.

These two are the horses people often find themselves standing beside just a little longer… breathing a little deeper… and leaving a little lighter. 🌿

At Indiana Horses Helping Humans, we’re continually reminded that some of the most powerful connections happen in the stillness. 💚

Meet Champion and Dakota.

Two incredible horses stepping into the heart of our horsemanship and Equine Assisted Learning journey through the Sue Spencer Horses Helping Humans theory program.

These horses are more than partners in learning. They are teachers of awareness, breath, confidence, grounding, and authentic connection.

Champion’s story is one of resilience. Rescued from the slaughter pipeline, he arrived guarded and uncertain of people. Today, he reflects what healing, safety, and trust can become. Champion teaches softness, patience, and the importance of regulating ourselves before asking for connection from another being.

Dakota is the grounded protector of the herd. Calm, intuitive, and steady, he naturally teaches leadership without force. His presence helps people slow down, settle their breathing, and become more aware of how energy and body language affect connection.

Through the Sue Spencer theory program, participants learn how subtle shifts in breath, posture, rhythm, and intention can completely change communication and confidence. The work is not about control. It is about relationship, awareness, and learning to lead from a grounded place.

Each horse within our herd carries unique characteristics and roles that help teach us about ourselves. By tapping into these personalities, families and participants often discover a fun and meaningful way to bring the experience home, shifting the rhythm of their own herd through greater understanding, connection, and communication.

What if one evening a week could bring your family closer together?

Join us for Harnessing the Herd, a 4-week family experience designed for ages 7+ where families meet once a week at the barn to slow down, reconnect, and learn together.

Each evening includes:

• Learning about herd personalities
• A simple mindfulness activity
• Meaningful conversation and connection
• A peaceful, hands-on grooming experience

No horse experience is needed.

Sessions are thoughtfully guided by facilitator Rebecca Redfern.

Slow down. Breathe. Reconnect—with yourself, your family, and the herd.

Hugs come in all shapes and sizes, let’s redefine the hug.

They say not everyone is a hugger. Every one of our horses have a unique way to offer that context in a way that matches what a person needs, they found their own special way of offering a hug, and hugs aren't always a physical embrace. It's shared breath, shared safe energy, being seen, being heard, being allowed to just be without managing perceptions or defining. The space always unfolds in a supportive way. We just learn to get our mind out of the way and naturally embrace our true nature.

It's a unique system that must be experienced and felt.
