คณะแพทยศาสตร์โรงพยาบาลรามาธิบดี มหาวิทยาลัยมหิดล ร่วมกับ บริษัท ออสซีโอแล็บส์ จำกัด (OsseoLabs) ประกาศเปิดตัวโครงการ Osscentric: Medical Technology Innovation Sandbox อย่างเป็นทางการ
โครงการนี้ได้รับแรงสนับสนุนด้านงบประมาณจาก สำนักงานเทคโนโลยีและนวัตกรรมด้านชีววิทยาศาสตร์ (องค์การมหาชน) หรือ TILSNA โดยมีวัตถุประสงค์หลักเพื่อทลายกำแพงระหว่างการวิจัยในห้องแล็บและการใช้งานจริงในสถานพยาบาล
หัวใจสำคัญของ Sandbox แห่งนี้คือการสร้างระบบนิเวศที่อนุญาตให้เกิดการเรียนรู้ร่วมกัน (Co-creation) ระหว่างบุคลากรทางการแพทย์และวิศวกรผู้ออกแบบ โดยเน้นย้ำไปที่ 3 เทคโนโลยียุทธศาสตร์
3D Printing: การพิมพ์สามมิติเพื่อสร้างอุปกรณ์การแพทย์ที่พอดีกับสรีระเฉพาะบุคคล (Personalized Devices)
Digital Surgical Simulation: ระบบจำลองการผ่าตัดเสมือนจริง ช่วยให้ศัลยแพทย์วางแผนและฝึกซ้อมเคสซับซ้อนก่อนลงมือจริง
Advanced Biomaterials: การพัฒนาวัสดุชีวภาพขั้นสูงที่เข้ากับร่างกายมนุษย์ได้อย่างสมบูรณ์ ลดผลข้างเคียงหลังการผ่าตัด
"เป้าหมายคือการสร้างพื้นที่ที่แพทย์และวิศวกรสามารถลองผิดลองถูกร่วมกันได้ในสภาพแวดล้อมจริง โดยไม่ต้องรอให้เทคโนโลยีสมบูรณ์ 100% ก่อนนำมาทดสอบทางคลินิก ซึ่งจะช่วยเร่งสปีดนวัตกรรมไทยให้เร็วขึ้น"
ความร่วมมือนี้ยังตั้งเป้าเชื่อมต่อกับ ย่านนวัตกรรมการแพทย์โยธี (YMID) เพื่อสร้างห่วงโซ่อุปทาน (Supply Chain) ด้านเครื่องมือแพทย์ของไทยให้เข้มแข็ง ลดการนำเข้าจากต่างประเทศ
โครงการ Osscentric Sandbox ได้เริ่มเดินหน้าตามแผนปฏิบัติการทันทีหลังเสร็จสิ้นพิธีลงนาม เพื่อเร่งยกระดับคุณภาพชีวิตของผู้ป่วยผ่านเทคโนโลยีที่แม่นยำและเข้าถึงได้ง่ายขึ้น

The Osscentric was created with that purpose in mind to accelerate how ideas in osseointegration are developed, tested, and brought into real clinical use.
