Something new is coming… Rooted & Well.

I've been wanting to create a space where I can share more of what I’m learning, loving, teaching and actually using in my own life when it comes to health and wellness — without trying to squeeze everything into a social media post.

So, I created Rooted & Well, my new monthly newsletter.

Understand your body. Nourish your health. Live rooted & well.

Once a month, I’ll be popping into your inbox with practical education, helpful resources, recipes, simple wellness tips, things I’m personally loving, upcoming events and realistic ways to better understand and support your body.

Because wellness doesn't have to be complicated.

I want Rooted & Well to feel like sitting down with a friend who happens to really love talking about hormones, metabolism, nourishment and whole-body health.

No perfection.
No overwhelming list of things you should be doing.
No emails every other day trying to sell you something.

Just thoughtful, practical wellness for real life.

And the very first Rooted & Well is coming September 1st! 🍂

If you'd like the first issue delivered straight to your inbox, you can join below. 👇

Today's workout marked my second workout of the week, and I am feeling so thankful for what my body is capable of.

Today was a 45-minute Total Body Strength & Core class at the YMCA, and I loved every minute of it.

One thing I've really been paying attention to lately is where I am in my menstrual cycle and how that affects my energy, motivation, and capacity.

Right now, I'm in my follicular phase, and I honestly feel on top of the world. I have more energy, more motivation, and I genuinely want to challenge myself. This phase is often when I feel strongest, so I'm choosing to lean into it and make the most of it.

But here's the thing...

I don't expect myself to feel this way every week of the month.

As women, our hormones naturally fluctuate throughout our cycle, and with those changes, our energy, mood, strength, and capacity can change too.

For years, I thought something was wrong with me because some weeks I felt unstoppable, while other weeks I struggled just to get through the day.

Now I understand...

My body wasn't working against me. It was simply working the way it was beautifully designed to.

Instead of fighting against those changes, I'm learning to work with my body.

To honor it.

To listen to it.

To challenge it when it's ready.

And to give it grace when it needs rest.

Understanding your hormones doesn't just change how you view your cycle—it changes how you show up for yourself.

Ladies, have you ever noticed that some weeks you feel like you can conquer the world, while other weeks your body is asking you to slow down? I'd love to hear if you've experienced this too. 💗

I think this is one of the saddest things I see as a Functional Hormone Specialist.

It is not a lack of effort or a lack of knowledge.

It is a lack of belief.

Because after enough failed diets...

After enough Monday restarts...

After enough times losing weight and gaining it back...

You begin collecting evidence.

Evidence that says:

"This probably won't work."

"I'll eventually fall off."

"This is just who I am."

And without realizing it, you start approaching your goals half in and half out.

You hope it works.

But you're also waiting for it to fail.

Waiting for the stress.

Waiting for the vacation.

Waiting for the holiday.

Waiting for the moment you "mess up."

Because that's what happened before.

So when life gets hard, you retreat back to what's familiar.

Not because you don't want the results.

But because your comfort zone is stronger than your belief.

The women who finally break free aren't necessarily more motivated.

They're not more disciplined.

They simply stop identifying as the woman who always starts over.

They stop collecting evidence of failure and start collecting evidence of success.

One workout.

One walk.

One meal.

One day at a time.

And eventually something shifts.

They begin trusting themselves again.

And once that happens...

Everything changes.

When you finally believe it's possible for you, your actions start aligning with your goals instead of your fears.

It doesn’t start with a diagnosis — it starts with whispers from your body.
The problem? No one taught us to listen.

PCOS signs can show up as early as your teen years — and most of us had no idea what to look for.
We were told it’s “just hormones,” “just puberty,” “just stress.”
But here’s what gets missed:

💡 Persistent acne that doesn’t respond to skincare?
💡 Cycles that disappear for months?
💡 Facial hair or hair loss that suddenly begins?
💡 Weight gain without much lifestyle change?
💡 Dark velvety patches around the neck or arms?

These aren’t random. They’re signs of possible insulin resistance, androgen excess, and early hormonal imbalance — all of which are connected to PCOS.

The earlier you notice these signs, the earlier you can take action. That doesn’t always mean medication — it could mean testing insulin, supporting ovulation naturally, balancing blood sugar, and getting informed.

Stop brushing symptoms off as “normal.” Start tracking what your body is telling you.

It took me months to understand what was actually happening in my body, and most of what I read online was either overhyped or oversimplified.

So here’s the breakdown I wish someone gave me:

🧠 PCOS = Polycystic O***y Syndrome. That means it’s not just about cysts — it’s a metabolic and hormonal imbalance that can impact your cycle, skin, mood, weight, and fertility. The ovaries are affected, but the root cause often lies deeper: blood sugar, inflammation, stress, thyroid, and androgens.

⚠️ What it’s not: It’s not always visible on scans. You don’t have to be overweight. Birth control doesn’t fix it — it suppresses it. And “just lose weight” is not a valid treatment plan.

📊 What helps? Learning your body’s patterns. Tracking ovulation, stabilizing insulin, improving sleep, reducing inflammation — and getting the right labs tested.

The more you understand your version of PCOS, the more power you have.

Short answer: PCOS isn’t something you “cure” — but yes, it’s absolutely manageable.

It’s not like an infection where you take antibiotics and it’s gone. PCOS is a syndrome — a collection of symptoms rooted in hormonal and metabolic imbalances. And those roots vary from person to person.

Some have insulin resistance.
Some have chronic inflammation.
Others have stress-driven or adrenal-type PCOS.

That’s why there’s no single “fix.”
But here’s the good news: you can absolutely reverse your symptoms — and keep them in remission for years. You can ovulate regularly. You can clear up your skin. You can restore energy, reduce hair loss, balance moods.

But if the root issues come back (blood sugar spikes, poor sleep, unmanaged stress), symptoms may creep back too. That’s why ongoing support — not punishment — is key.

This isn’t about chasing perfection. It’s about creating a real, repeatable rhythm that supports your body long-term.

Let’s change how we talk about PCOS — with facts, not fear.

Most people think it’s all about missed periods and trouble getting pregnant. But PCOS (Polycystic O***y Syndrome) is so much more than that.

It’s a full-body hormonal condition that can impact your skin, energy, mood, weight, insulin sensitivity, metabolism, and even your mental health. And yet — the way it’s usually talked about online? Oversimplified, surface-level, and outdated.

Here are 5 things people get wrong about PCOS:
1️⃣ It’s not “just” a reproductive disorder — it’s a chronic metabolic and hormonal imbalance.
2️⃣ It affects women of all body types, not just those who gain weight.
3️⃣ The pill doesn’t cure PCOS — it only suppresses the symptoms.
4️⃣ You can be diagnosed with PCOS without ovarian cysts.
5️⃣ It affects your life daily — not just during your cycle.

It’s time we shift the conversation around PCOS to something more informed, compassionate, and root-cause focused.

If this resonates, I created a free 5-minute PCOS Pattern Assessment that helps you identify your primary and secondary drivers — so you stop guessing and start understanding what may actually be influencing your symptoms.
It’s educational.
It’s not diagnostic.
But it’s a powerful first step.

You can find it in my bio.

Many women with PCOS are prescribed birth control as a “solution” — but let’s be clear: birth control is not a treatment for PCOS.
It may mask symptoms for a while, but it doesn’t address the root causes like insulin resistance, hormonal imbalance, or inflammation.

If you’re living with PCOS, remember: true healing comes from lifestyle changes, proper nutrition, stress management, and finding the right medical support.
