💜 A New Support Group Is Coming to Northumberland County! 💜
No one should have to navigate the journey of Alzheimer’s or dementia alone.
Dementia Friendly Susquehanna Valley is pleased to announce a new Alzheimer’s & Dementia Support Group for Northumberland County, beginning Thursday, August 27th, and meeting on the fourth Thursday of each month moving forward.
Led by Melissa Sauger, MSW, this group will offer a welcoming and supportive place to:
💜 Connect with others who understand
💜 Talk openly about challenges and experiences
💜 Explore ways of coping and navigating difficult situations
💜 Learn about valuable community resources
💜 Build a stronger support system
Whether you are a caregiver, family member, friend, or someone supporting a person living with dementia, you are welcome.
Sometimes, knowing that someone else understands can make all the difference. 💜

👟 We Stepped Up for a Great Cause! 💜
The Visiting Angels Shoe Drive for a Cause has officially wrapped up, and we are so proud to share that Kreisher Marshall & Associates collected an incredible 193 pairs of shoes, weighing a total of 209.84 pounds! 👟👏
All proceeds from the shoe drive benefit the Walk to End Alzheimer’s, helping support the Alzheimer’s Association and its mission to make a difference for those affected by Alzheimer’s and dementia.
Our Elder Care Coordinator, Elaine Spicher, and Outreach and Community Liaison, Michelle Kozak, were honored to attend the celebration of a storage unit filled with shoes collected throughout the community! 💜
A heartfelt THANK YOU to everyone who donated. Your support, generosity, and dedication to the Alzheimer’s Association mean so much. Together, we are making a difference—one pair of shoes at a time! 👟💜

We are excited to welcome 8 new Dementia Friends from Compassus Hospice Bloomsburg! Thank you so much for taking the time to learn more about dementia and for your commitment to becoming more dementia-friendly in our community.
This session was led by DFSV Co-Lead Elaine Spicher and DFSV Council Member Karrie Sarisky.

Reminder that Kreisher Marshall & Associates is still accepting shoes for the Visiting Angels (Lewisburg) Shoe drive for a Cause benefiting the Alzheimer's Association-Greater PA Chapter.

👠Visiting Angels is accepting men's, woman's and children's sneakers, boots, sandals and dress shoes.

Be sure to drop off your shoes at our office Monday thru Friday 9am to 5pm.
