Dementia Friendly Susquehanna Valley DFSV's vision is to provide education & support to those in our area caring for those with dementia.

The mission of DFSV is to bring dementia awareness to our region through education, advocacy and volunteer engagement in order to better support those living with dementia and their caregivers. Specifically, DFSV provides education opportunities about dementia in an effort to inform the community at large, reduce the stigma associated with dementia, bring awareness to existing community resources and create new resources to better serve those living with dementia and their caregivers.

This past weekend, we were truly honored to be part of Geisinger's Dementia Caregiver Conferenceโ€”and what an incredible and impactful event it was!

Attorney Marianne Kreisher and Elder Care Coordinator, Elaine Spicher had the opportunity to speak, share their knowledge, and connect with so many dedicated caregivers. It was inspiring to engage with individuals who give so much of themselves to support their loved ones every day. The turnout was outstanding, and the sense of community, compassion, and shared purpose filled the room from start to finish.

We want to thank Marquene Klimchok, Kirsten Busko, and Krystle Goverick from LIFE Geisinger for hosting such a thoughtful, well-organized, and meaningful event.

A special thank you as well to Geisinger Cognitive Neurologist, Dr. Maya Lichtenstein, for delivering insightful and valuable education that helped deepen understanding of dementia and the challenges caregivers face.

From informative discussions to meaningful conversations, the entire morning was a reminder of how important it is to come together, share knowledge, and support one another. We are so grateful to have been included in such a successful event and look forward to continuing to serve and support this incredible community.
