🌍 Did You Know? There’s a LAM Treatment Guidelines graphic available in more than 25 languages.

The American Thoracic Society (ATS) and the Japanese Respiratory Society (JRS), alongside a committee of LAM experts, have developed Clinical Practice Guidelines to enhance the diagnosis and treatment of lymphangioleiomyomatosis (LAM). The guidelines graphics are accessible in languages such as Portuguese, French, Spanish, Swedish, Hindi, Telugu, and many more thanks to CHEST and our partners in the Worldwide LAM Patient Coalition.

The LAM Foundation continues to be recognized as a global leader in health research. Recently, more than 100 professionals from across the pulmonary research community, along with 14 patient representatives, gathered at the French Embassy in Washington, D.C., for the inaugural Pulmonary Clinical Trials (PCT) Workshop.

PCT’s mission is to foster collaboration, spark innovation, and enhance clinical trial design to better serve the global pulmonary medicine community. The LAM community was well represented, with LAM Clinic Directors Dr. Vincent Cottin (co-chair), Dr. Frank McCormack, Dr. Nishant Gupta, Dr. MeiLan Han, Dr. Kevin Flaherty, Dr. Cormac McCarthy, and Dr. Abdellatif Tazi serving as speakers and participants.

We were also proud to have our Director of Patient Services, Cindy Beasley, represent the LAM community by sharing the patient perspective and highlighting the importance of incorporating the patient voice into clinical research.

Beth Hull Daugherity spent 17 years seeking answers before being diagnosed with LAM. That diagnosis opened the door to managing lung collapses, hormone suppression, and treatment with sirolimus, the only FDA-approved therapy for LAM.

For those with rare or chronic conditions, an accurate diagnosis can be life-changing, bringing clarity, validation, and better care.
