At the Disability Summit 2026, KenCrest's Enabling Technology team brought a SMART Home to life, showcasing technologies that can help people live more independently, safely, and confidently!

From voice-controlled devices and smart lighting to adaptive dining tools, hearing supports, automated blinds, safety sensors, and accessible home controls, every technology was selected with one goal in mind: helping people create environments that work for their unique needs and goals.

🎉 Happy Birthday, Sandra! 🎂 Friends, family, and members of KenCrest's Supported Independent Living (SIL) Program recently came together to celebrate Sandra's special day with lots of laughter, connection, and of course, chocolate cake!

The celebration was filled with joyful conversations about upcoming activities, favorite memories, and future social events, including ideas for bike rides, bowling nights, and pamper parties coming soon. One of the highlights of the afternoon was sharing laughs over Sandra's newest favorite saying, "Yooooooooooo!" which kept everyone smiling throughout the gathering. 😊

Most importantly, the day was a wonderful reminder of the friendships, community, and meaningful connections that make moments like these so special. Sandra's smile said it all, especially when it was time for cake! 💙 Join us in wishing Sandra a very happy birthday!

Advocacy starts with conversation! We were grateful to welcome Senator Joe Picozzi to a KenCrest home for a tour and discussion about issues impacting people with disabilities and the professionals who support them every day. Topics included DSP workforce challenges, home and community-based services, and the policies that help people live, work, and thrive in their communities.

At KenCrest, we believe everyone deserves the opportunity to have their voice heard. 📣🗳️Recently, individuals across our programs participated in a Mock Vote Day, where they learned what to expect on Election Day, explored a voting booth, practiced completing a ballot, and received information about voter registration and voting resources.

The experience was about more than voting. It was about choice, independence, and ensuring people have the knowledge and confidence to participate in their communities and make their voices heard. We're proud to support self-advocacy and help remove barriers so everyone has the opportunity to take part in the democratic process.

Every day at KenCrest, life-changing moments happen quietly. After being born prematurely at 24 weeks, and weighing just one pound and six ounces, Malakai is receiving care at KenCrest’s Children’s Transitional Home.
