Mental health affects how we show up for our work, our families, and our communities. Mental Health Awareness Month is a reminder that prioritizing mental well‑being is not a one‑month conversation, but an ongoing commitment. Creating supportive environments starts with understanding, compassion, and access to trusted resources. Checking in, asking for help, and extending grace matters more than we sometimes realize.

Our team was proud to participate in the Evansville Disability Resource Fair on April 18, 2026. 🌟 The event provided families with an opportunity to connect with community resources, learn about available programs, and engage in conversations that support self-advocacy and informed decision-making.

We were well represented by Columbus Case Managers Heather Payne, Alexandria Higdon, and Tia Helming, who connected with individuals and families, answered questions, and helped increase awareness of meaningful supports. Events like this play an important role in bringing services together in one place and strengthening access through education and connection.

We value opportunities to engage directly with the communities we serve and to support individuals and families through advocacy, collaboration, and shared learning. Thank you for having us!

Across sessions, there was a strong emphasis on belonging, inclusion, and person-centered practices, with thoughtful discussions focused on reducing barriers, strengthening access, and ensuring dignity and connection for aging populations. Innovation and collaboration remained central themes throughout the event, reinforcing the importance of adapting systems to meet diverse and evolving needs.

We would also like to recognize Columbus Executive Director, Allist Jones, for representing our organization with professionalism, insight, and a strong commitment to the work.
