As licensed and insured Massage Therapists, we work hard to uphold the professionalism and integrity of our industry. Unfortunately, there are establishments that advertise themselves as “massage services” while not providing legitimate therapeutic massage. This creates confusion and damages the reputation of ethical professionals who are dedicated to helping clients through safe, medically beneficial care.
There are strict state regulations in place regarding professional conduct, draping, and appropriate touch during massage therapy sessions. Certain areas of the body should never be exposed or touched inappropriately, and any behavior that makes a client uncomfortable is unacceptable.
At Chasing Serenity, we take these standards seriously. We are not only licensed and insured, but also proud to be a VA-approved provider. Becoming a VA provider requires extensive credentialing, professionalism, and accountability — standards we are committed to maintaining every single day.
If you ever experience inappropriate behavior from someone claiming to be a massage professional, please report it to your state massage therapy board. Holding unethical establishments accountable helps protect clients and supports legitimate therapists who are dedicated to therapeutic, professional care.
Massage therapy should continue to be recognized for what it truly is: a valuable tool for health, recovery, pain management, and overall wellness — without the “funny business.”
