Some milestones just hit different. šŸ„¹

Being presented by Merz Aesthetics as a Center of Excellence + MAX Merz Pop-Up Educator for the 2026ā€“2027 fiscal year is one of those moments I donā€™t think Iā€™ll ever forget.

This has been a personal and professional goal of mine since moving to the Lowcountry two years ago and deciding to build something of my own.

What makes this one even more special is my history with Merz. Iā€™ve been a huge believer in and advocate for the Merz portfolio for the last six years. Iā€™ve used these products in every practice Iā€™ve been a part of, educated with them, grown with them, and genuinely believed in what they allow us to do for our patients.

But achieving this milestone inside my own practice, as a solo injector and provider, feels different.

Refine started with a vision, a lot of faith, and a willingness to work really freaking hard for something I believed could be special.

There have been long days, uncomfortable decisions, risks, sacrifices, and plenty of moments where the next level felt really far away.

And then there are moments like this.

Moments that remind you that passion matters. Consistency matters. Showing up when no one is watching matters. Believing in your vision before there is proof that itā€™s working matters.

To be recognized by a company I have respected and supported for so many years, for a practice I built from the ground up, is incredibly humbling.

This one means a lot.
And maybe the best part?
I still feel like Iā€™m just getting started. šŸ¤

Under-eye filler isnā€™t the problem. Poor patient selection, product choice, placement, and technique are.

The tear trough is one of the most unforgiving areas of the faceā€”and itā€™s exactly why I donā€™t believe every hollow under an eye should automatically be filled.

For this patient, the issue wasnā€™t simply ā€œdark circles.ā€ She had true lower tear-trough hollowing combined with loss of anterior/medial cheek support, creating a shadow beneath the eye.

So instead of chasing the hollow alone, we treated the foundation firstā€”restoring strategic cheek support and then conservatively replacing volume through the tear trough.

Product matters here, too. I chose an RHA filler with characteristics appropriate for this delicate area, where minimizing unnecessary water attraction and avoiding overcorrection are critical.

The goal was never to erase every line or make her look ā€œfilled.ā€

It was to restore the anatomy, soften the shadow, and create a smoother transition from the lower eyelid into the cheekā€”without anyone knowing why she looks more rested.

Under-eye filler can be beautiful in the right patient, with the right product, in the right plane, and in the right amount.

The syringe isnā€™t the strategy. The assessment is.
