Only about 30% of patients who need a blood stem cell or marrow transplant find a matching donor within their family. The other 70% depend on an unrelated volunteer donor from the registry.

For some people living with , a transplant can replace the cells producing abnormal hemoglobin with healthy blood-forming stem cells. Olivia’s transplant was made possible when Brandon was identified as her matching marrow donor.

After Lori was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia, Adam was identified as her matching donor. He joined the registry with a cheek swab at Tufts University and later donated the stem cells she needed for her transplant. 💙

Thirteen years after joining the registry at a Camp Young Judaea-Texas swab drive, Los Angeles-based artist Jonathan received the call that he was a match for a patient battling leukemia.

He traveled from Los Angeles to South Florida to donate his stem cells, giving someone a second chance at life.
