At Baby-Friendly designated facilities, routine newborn procedures like APGAR scoring and vital signs are done while baby is skin-to-skin with mom. Procedures that require separation, like bathing and weighing, are delayed until after the first feeding or initial hour of skin-to-skin contact. And when separation is necessary, baby is kept at your bedside whenever possible.

Because the bath can wait, but the first moments with your baby can't.
